:- Quality has a name
HEINE
Located near Munich, Germany, HEINE OPTOTECHNIK has been designing and manufacturing
the highest quality diagnostic instruments for medical and industrial applications for more
than 55 years. Users around the world consider HEINE the premier name for innovative design,
performance, quality and overall value. Today, HEINE sets the standard by which all other
diagnostic instruments are measured.
Still a family-owned company, HEINE is now the world’s largest exporter of primary, hand-held
diagnostic instruments.
Engineering / Manufacturing
Working in modern production facilities in Germany and Switzerland, HEINE engineers contribute
their expertise in optical fibers and glass, special alloys, advanced thermoplastics and other
related fields to continually improve HEINE instruments with state-of-the-art concepts, technology
and manufacturing techniques. The results of our continuing efforts are innovative designs that
enhance diagnostic skills.
We look forward to hearing from you and to the opportunity of meeting your diagnostic instrument
needs.
:- Optical Inspection Instruments
Technical Applications and Quality Control
Light-sources. Most of the instruments are fitted with a miniature XHL Xenon
Halogen bulb with a much brighter light and longer working life than those of
conventional miniature bulbs. Each bulb is specially-designed to suit the instrument
to which it is fitted.
Power Sources. With a battery or rechargeable handle or the 12 V-Accubox
you need no mains power supply and you are completely mobile.
Convenience is a special feature of all HEINE instruments because they are
designed exclusively with the needs of the user in mind. This is particularly so
with mini instruments which can be carried in a coat pocket thanks to their
compact size and weight which is not much greater than that of a pen.
HEINE Quality. We are aware of the extreme conditions under which control
equipment must perform in industrial use, and this is always taken into account
in the design specification, materials and manufacturing methods which we apply.
Technoscopes from the specialist. HEINE designs and manufactures all its
products in-house. You can obtain from a single source a complete and logical
range of technical illumination and optical inspection equipment.
Compatibility. HEINE instruments are compatible with a complete range of power
sources and associated accessories. This compatibility enables you to add on future
generations of instruments to existing equipment.

MISCELLANEOUS INSPECTION INSTRUMENTS
[ 015 ]
HEINE Borescope ®
For apertures from Ø 0.3 mm. Working distance from 5-250mm.
The unique construction of the HEINE borescope enables you to view through a
0.3 mm aperture and into narrow cavities, e.g. a security lock. It provides excellent
results when used as illuminated viewer for variable working distances.
How it operates: Light from a XHL Xenon Halogen bulb [1] is condensed and
projected [2] onto a mirror [3], which reflects it through 90°. The examiner moves the
instrument as close as possible to the object to be examined and looks over the top
edge of the mirror. A lens wheel [4] is located directly in front of the mirror and
incorporates a ring of lenses of various focal lengths. By turning this lens wheel, the
examiner selects a lens [5] which provides a sharply-focused, magnified image. The
focal length can be varied during the entire examination.
:- Gives a bright, illuminated view in even the smallest cavities, openings, bores,
locks, jets, cylinders etc.
:- Up to 10x magnification. You can inspect through openings as small as 0.3 mm!
Can also be used as an illuminated loupe for surface examination. XHL Xenon
Halogen illumination.
:- Can be focused by selecting any one of 17 lenses on the lenswheel.
:- With illuminated distance-meter.
:- Spectacle-wearers can work with or without spectacles.
Borescope with 3.5 V-illumination with automatic-connector for batteryor
Viewing probes
For apertures from 5 mm diameter. Direction of view 0° and 90°.
Optical function: A pre-focussed bulb [ 01 ] projects light onto the end-surface [ 02 ]
of a fiber optic bundle [ 03 ] which contains many thousand single fibers. At the far
end of the bundle [ 04 ] the fibers form a ring which projects a homogeneous and
shadow-free beam of light along the viewing path.
The examiner looks straight ahead and sees an object in a bore or cavity under
magnification. A range of three mirror probes provides a 90° direction of view. They are
simply attached to the far end of the instrument. A magnifying lens is attached to the
head.
MIRROR PROBES
A universal system
Inspection instruments for bores and cavities greater than 9 mm in diameter and up to 1000 mm deep are widely used in industry.
The HEINE range includes many different elements which make it especially suitable for situations which involve the need to change
quickly from one kind of inspection to another. A further advantage lies in the availability of optical magnifiers for these instruments.
The kit system:
The basic element of the XHL Xenon Halogen probe is the 3.5V probe head [ 01 ] with automatic
connector for the 3.5V power source [ 02 ]. Probes in various lengths [ 03 ] can be attached to
the M 6 screw thread provided. They, in turn, also incorporate an internal screw thread into
which the 3.5V XHL Xenon Halogen bulb [ 04 ] is screwed.
Mirrors of various diameters [ 05 ] can be fitted to the probes, and can be rotated into any
position as required. They are designed to prevent their accidental detachment from the probe.
Optical magnification can be provided by means of a simple swivel loupe or a precision
focussable prism telescope [ 06 ] with a simple friction connector.
Mirror probe with remote adjustment of mirror
For apertures from 30mm diameter, Direction of view 30° to 120°
For inspecting cavities or large-diameter bores where the entrance hole is relatively
small, these instruments offer the advantage of permitting the user to observe in any
direction, including backwards! This is made possible by the adjustable mirror.
Construction: A rigid tube [ 02 ] is attached to the head [ 01 ] which has an automatic
connector for a 3.5 V handle. The far end of the tube has an adjustable mirror [ 03 ]
and a XHL Xenon Halogen bulb fixed to it. The mirror can be adjusted by means of a
pushrod running parallel to it, which in turn is moved by a control knob [ 05 ] mounted
in front of the instrument head.
Mirrors of different diameters can be used with the mirror probe, all of which are
secured to prevent their becoming loose. The 3.5 V bulb provides a large patch
of intense light, which allows very detailed examination and recognition of details,
particularly so when the prism telescope [ 06 ] with 3 – 5.5 x magnification is used.
BINOCULAR LOUPES
[ 025 ]
HEINE binocular loupes set new standards for innovative optics combined with high-tech materials and production
techniques.
The use of magnifying loupes will increase your visual acuity and reduce eyestrain. Careful selection of working distance
and correct viewing angle will avoid back and neck strain by allowing a comfortable working position. Simply select the
lowest magnification that will meet your needs. The lower the magnification, the larger the field of view, and the easier the
loupe will be to use.
HEINE HR ® Binocular Loupes
HR Technology for an even bigger field of view
:- The Brightest Image. Our exclusive coating technology reduces light reflection
to 0.3 %, providing the brightest image of any comparable loupe.
:- The Crispest Image with Colour Correction. State-of-the-art HEINE optics with
achromatic lenses provide a new standard for image clarity, crispness and colour
compared with conventional Galilean loupes.
:- Super-Wide, Super-Deep Field of View. New improvements in our HR (High
Resolution) optical technology provide a super-wide, fully useable, distortion-free
field of view (90 mm) and the greatest depth of field (110 mm) to eliminate eyestrain
even over extended periods of use.
:- Dust- and Water-Resistant. All HR loupes are dust- and water-resistant to IP65/IEC
60529 (2000) to ensure ease of cleaning/disinfection, and years of trouble-free use.
:- Flexibility for Precise Adjustment. HEINE Binocular loupes have independently
adjustable optics left and right to select the exact inter-pupillary distance (PD).
Conventional designs using a single adjuster are always a compromise. HR loupes
can be adjusted precisely for each user for optimum optical performance by means
of 4 different mounting positions on headband.
:- Super Light. HR optics weigh only 42 g for user-comfort even over extended periods.
:- 2.5x Magnification: HR 2.5x loupes offer an excellent balance between high
magnification, field of view, depth of field, and ease of use. The HR 2.5x is our
most popular model.
BINOCULAR LOUPES
HEINE HRP ® Binocular Loupes
HRP Technology for highly-magnified crisp images
HRP Binocular loupes of 4x or 6x magnification are used when high magnification is
necessary. HRP loupes have been designed to provide the largest field of view and best
depth of field possible for each magnification. Please note that the field of view and depth
of field will decrease as magnification increases, making higher magnification loupes more
difficult to get accustomed to.
:- Prismatic Optics. Only top-quality, precision glass prisms are used to provide the highest
resolution and clearest, crispest images over the entire field of view “edge-to-edge”.
:- The Brightest Image in Perfect Colour. Our exclusive coating technology reduces
light reflection to 0.3 % allowing for optimum light transmission, and ensuring perfect
colour reproduction for brilliant, 3-dimensional images.
:- Compact Design. Although the higher magnification requires a more complex design,
the weight of the HRP Loupes has been minimized. The 4x optics weigh only 78 g, the
6x weighs only 89 g.
:- Dust- and Water-Resistant. All HRP loupes are dust- and water-resistant to IP65/
IEC 60529 (2000) to ensure ease of cleaning/disinfection, and years of trouble-free use.
:- Flexibility for Precise Adjustment. HRP loupes have independently adjustable optics
for selecting the exact inter-pupillary distance (PD). HRP loupes can be adjusted
precisely for each user for optimum optical performance by means of 4 different
mounting positions on headband.
:- Field of View at High Magnification. Advanced optical design ensures a wide field
of view and a great depth of field even at high magnifications avoiding eyestrain over
extended periods of use.
:- 4.0x Magnification: 4.0x loupes provide magnification for most advanced applications
and still offer a large 50 mm field of view. The 340 mm working distance is ideal for
applications where the user is in a sitting position.
:- 6.0x Magnification: Here the focus is on maximum magnification, with a 40 mm field
of view. The 340 mm working distance is ideal for applications where the user is in a
stable, sitting position.
SECTION
BULBS
[ 037 ]
Each HEINE bulb is specifically designed as an integral part of the HEINE instrument it powers, based upon the following
parameters:
Colour Temperature
Based on advanced HEINE XHL ® Xenon Halogen Technology, each bulb is designed to provide the ideal colour temperature for
the diagnosis the instrument is intended for. This ensures a proper balance between brightness and true image colour for the most
accurate diagnosis.
Bulb Life
HEINE bulbs last up to 50 % longer, providing long life, optimum performance and cost-effectiveness.
Optical Performance
The performance of each HEINE optical instrument depends on the bulb that powers it. Incorporated focusing lenses on the glass
bulb envelope, precision filament placement, and homogeneous light projection are major factors in ensuring the satisfactory
performance of your HEINE instrument.
We can only guarantee the performance and safety of your instrument if the appropriate HEINE bulb powers it. A non-genuine bulb
or incorrect bulb will impede the performance of your HEINE instrument.
Insist on genuine HEINE replacement bulbs and parts to ensure the performance of your HEINE precision instrument.
