Fujitsu’s FMV-U8240 is the best-looking of the forthcoming UMPCs, and getting a close look at the curiously ’80s-stylings of the tiny tablet only confirms it. It’s almost as if they went back and melted down some DeLoreans and ZX80s for their plastics and dyes.

Akihabara News got its magnifying glass out to produce a gallery which leaves no crevasse unphotographed. If the official U.S. release brings it in anywhere close to a grand, it's going to be hard to resist that 800 MHz Intel A110 CPU, 5.6" screen and Gig of RAM. Right now, import via Dynamism, at $2100, is the only option.

However, the thing has three critical flaws: There's no wireless WAN. There's no Bluetooth. And the battery craps out after about 3 hours.
