Frederick de Moucheron painted French, Italian, and Dutch landscapes. The staffage figures in his scenes were painted by contemporaries specialized in painting figures such as Adriaen van de Velde in Amsterdam, Theodor Helmbreker (1633-1696) in Paris, and at times Johannes Lingelbach, and Nicolaes Pietersz. Berchem.
