Anna McDougall joined the WFXR news team as the Lynchburg Bureau Reporter in June 2022.
Anna is from Atlanta, GA but left the Peach State to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (yes, Ohio, not Florida). There she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism as well as a Bachelor’s in Spanish. While in school Anna was a part of “The Miami Student” media where she hosted a Human-Interest podcast and wrote articles covering campus and community. During her senior year, she interned for “Seacrest Studios” and “Rylan Media.”
She moved to Virginia after graduation to begin her career with WFXR. During her time with WFXR Anna has covered a wide variety of stories, from national news to local puppy playdates– you may have even seen her with her camera on the sidelines at your favorite hometown game!
When she’s not working Anna enjoys baking sweet treats, reading and writing, and spending time with friends and family. You can usually find her out and about in Lynchburg, trying new restaurants or playing tennis at the park.
