Chateau de la Coutere is situated in the Haute Garonne, in the Midi-Pyrenees, and offers you French style and country living, in the heart of southern rural France. With its original oak floors and characterful rooms in abundance, you will enjoy everything there is to be expected from a centuries old chateau. Our recent renovations will guarantee you the familiarity and comfort of staying in a home from home environment, whilst finding yourself immersed in a truly secluded setting.

Discovered the end of its own 1.5km private road, and nestled in over 60 acres of park and woodland, Chateau de la Coutere offers you complete privacy for your relaxing holiday.

With its original oak floors and characterful rooms in abundance, you will enjoy everything there is to be expected from a centuries old chateau. The chateau is in its own valley, surrounded by the chateau’s own park and woodland which borders the River Save.

Decorated with antique, vintage, and contemporary furniture and art, there is plenty of room for everybody to relax and unwind as the chateau sleeps up to 15 people. (If more guest capacity is needed please ask how we can help). The six upstairs bedrooms all are stylishly decorated and give access to an en-suite bathroom.

The chateau is ideal for families or generations of the same family, with full linen and towels provided for each room. The grand salon and dining room have been designed to accommodate large parties such as several groups of friends or families holidaying together.

In the summer, the south of France is all about the great outdoors and as much as you will like the inside of the chateau, you will adore the outside even more. Families love this intimate chateau for its swimming pool and the chateau’s acres of grounds and woodland to explore - there's even tree swings and a trampoline for the small ones or young at heart!

In the spring and autumn months, the temperatures here in the south can be hot, but are at the very least nice and warm, and we open our pool from April to the end of October. In the summer the days are long and hot and thankfully the chateau remains beautifully refreshing and cool.

Friends holidaying together also enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, eating alfresco on the terraces, after cooking on the BBQ or with the outdoor wood oven, or in the fully equipped newly fitted kitchen inside the chateau.

Don't forget to take a walk to the our waterfalls for a swim or to enjoy the nature setting at the edge of the chateau's grounds.

Evenings will be filled with enjoying the last of the sun’s rays by the swimming pool, enjoying refreshing drinks under the fairy lights, at the front of the chateau, or listening to nature on the raised terraces in front of the dining room and grand salon. Yet undoubtedly, everyone falls in love with the chateau’s private setting and seclusion. We know that you will enjoy this idyllic setting as much as everyone else.

We hope you will also enjoy your welcome basket, including our own organic free-range eggs and fresh vegetables and salad from the chateau's large potager - along with our great local wines and cheeses. With a boulangerie in the village just 1.5km away and only seven and 10 kilometres from the nearest market towns, of L’isle en Dodon and Boulogne Sur Gesse, all amenities are just a few minutes away by car, yet far enough to enjoy the privacy the chateau has to offer.

The chateau is in the heart of the beautiful French countryside, only 50 minutes from historic Toulouse and Spain is just 50 km to the south. The proximity of the Pyrénées display an ever-changing array of amazing views and there is a plethora of activities on offer throughout every season, such as cycling, water sports and hiking in the summer, and skiing along with other sports in the winter months.
