Unmissable and trendy place in Bordeaux, nicknamed "the Petit Marais Bordeaux", we can only love this place!
As a family, as a couple or with friends, it seems that everyone gives themselves the word to spend time on Place Camille Jullian, named after a historian who lived there.
Beautiful buildings, Gallo-Roman remains, place for temporary exhibitions, restaurants and bars, arthouse cinema, St Siméon church: the square is eclectic and teeming with tourists and Bordeaux residents.

Great Location

First the positives - The location is excellent and very close to many restaurants and shopping. Parking at Place Camille Jullian is very close and convenient. The property is very clean and equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay. The rooftop terrace is a really nice bonus. Some other points of interest - There are 59 steps up to the apartment. It was not a problem for us but worth noting. There is no air conditioning or fans in the bedrooms. It was very warm at night but quite loud when you open the windows. It is quite with the windows shut. We would stay again but would time our visit with cooler temperatures.

Great location near all the significant cultural sites

Location was good but very active at night so sleeping with open windows is a contradiction.

Noisy but Nice

If you are young or love to be in the heart of a party neighborhood, this is the place for you! The apartment is decent, clean, sleeps many and has air conditioning on the second floor where the kitchen, dining and small living area is (bedrooms are on the first floor). If you are unlucky to arrive during a heat wave, it is intolerable. You can't sleep with the windows opened because of the noise and you can't sleep with the windows closed because it's too hot. The property manager is incredible and accommodating. Would have been nice to have had some fans! In winter, the party scene and the heat are non issues.

Good and Bad

Here are my comments about our 5 night stay in the apartment from June 2 till June 2: GOOD: 1. Virginie: She was at the apartment when we arrived and was available throughout our stay to answer any questions or help in any way. She also came by on our last day before we departed. It was a pleasure to work with her. 2. Very Modern: The furniture and appliances are all very modern and in perfect working order. We used the washer and dryer on our last day and had all clean clothes for our next destination. The AC on the top floor worked well also. 3. Centrally located: If you want to be in the middle of the action (day & night) this is certainly the place to be. BAD: 1. Stairs: Three flights of stairs to the main apartment and an additional flight to the air-conditioned level and deck area. It is quite a workout every time you come and go. 2. Noise: The noise from the street and square was terrible at night. Mostly people screaming and motorbikes revving their engines. It went on every night until 2 or 3 am. Made it very hard to sleep, especially if you are suffering from jetlag. 3. Air Conditioning: This is only a problem during the summer months. The air-conditioned area is on the top floor which is a kitchen and living area. The bedrooms are on the lower level which is not air conditioned and has no fans. We had a couple of warm days and I had to go upstairs to sleep on the sofa (not a sofa bed) in the AC. If you don’t have a problem with the bad points above, this would be a great place to stay in Bordeaux. John
