Sometimes the most exciting beauty treatment can be as simple as a really great haircut. Forty-nine year old supermodel Amber Valletta unveiled new bangs at Paris Fashion Week. The supermodel, for whom the slicked-back pony has long been a trademark, styled her new fringe in different ways for her various appearances, and her hair transformed each look in much the same way as a handbag or jewelry switch-up.
At the Saint Laurent show, she arrived wearing a sheer black slip dress and a rock star haircut to match. Her long bob was styled with just the right amount of volume, while her fringe was swept slightly to the side, drawing attention to those piercing green eyes.
Then there was the Balenciaga show, where she paired a choppy fringe and straighter lengths with a fresh-faced make-up look and a wide smile. Her fringe was worn jagged and brow-skimming, rather than full, as before. After that, at a party hosted by fashion photographer Mert Alas, Valletta’s off-duty jeans and white camisole combo were elevated with a wispy fringe, also worn straight and shiny.
A versatile styling detail to think about when you book into the hairdressers for your autumn refresh, a fringe may require a little more maintenance than a bag or piece of jewelry, but when you get it right–as Valletta proves–there’s nothing quite like it.
