The 6 most shocking moments in the 'Pretty Little Liars' finale

Spoiler alert! The following contains details from Tuesday’s spring finale of Pretty Little Liars.

In the Pretty Little Liars season finale, “A” is “unmasked” without actually taking his mask off. The kicker — “A” is Charles DiLaurentis — a character that has yet to be introduced.

The big "A" reveal was only one of many shocking moments in Tuesday's finale. Here are 6 moments from the episode that we know gave you the goose bumps:

1. The girls’ van gets hijacked

Charged in the previous episode for being accessories in the murder of Mona Vanderwaal, the girls start off in the back of a van on their way to the penitentiary. But they never make it.

Their van gets hijacked and Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Emily wake up in a “dollhouse” instead, playing the part of “A’s” toy dolls. So. Creepy.

2. They wake up in duplicated-versions of their own bedrooms

As if getting kidnapped and waking up in a strange place isn’t scary enough, imagine waking up in “your room,” or what looks to be your room.

The liars woke up in exact replicas of their bedrooms. The details were so thought-out that one of them even yells for her mom, thinking she’s actually home.

Cameras in the room and an automated voice saying, “Please, exit your room and follow the lighted passageway,” bring the girls back to reality. The reality of “A.”

3. “Ali” takes off her mask and it’s Mona who is definitely alive

The lighted passageway leads the liars to a girl, dolled up with blonde curls and a mask, who is playing the piano. They see the long, blonde hair and immediately think, “Ali?”

But the mask comes off, revealing it’s Mona. Surprise! She’s alive after all. And not only is she alive and well, she thinks she’s Alison.

4. Brainwashed Mona is so persistent about the fact she is Alison DiLaurentis that it’s actually scary

With the blonde new 'do and The Stepford Wives ensemble, Mona not only sounds the part, she looks the part. Mona insists on the girls addressing her as “Ali” and gets hostile with them when they call her Mona.

Thankfully, later on in the episode, Mona reveals she’s just playing the part for “A” and that she’s really the one ahead in “A’s” little game.

5. The girls are forced to recreate a prom with mannequins as guests, except one of those mannequins isn’t a mannequin

The girls put on their dresses “A” laid out for them on their beds and attend a “prom” "A" has set up for them. “Ali” (aka Mona) gets crowned prom queen and “A,” who Spencer figures out is named Charles, is crowned prom king. (Did we mention creepy?)

They announce he is the winner and urge him to come forth and accept his crown. Little did they know, he was already in the audience.

6. That DiLaurentis home video

Spencer plays a home video of what looks to be Mrs. DiLaurentis holding a baby girl next to two blonde-haired boys — one is Alison’s brother Jason, who we know, and the other who we're pretty sure is Charles.

Even Spencer thinks so saying, “Charles, is that you?” as he walks up behind her.

All in all, the season finale of Pretty Little Liar left us and the show's fans with mixed feelings and unanswered questions:

And while some are left, unsure who “A,” or Charles as we guess we have to call him now, really is, others have their own theories.

One circulating is that Charles is Jason’s twin brother, but he wanted to be a girl when he was young, and that may be the reason behind Mrs. DiLaurentis buying two dresses earlier in the series.

Whoever Charles really is, you will have to hold tight until next season to get his background story. Hopefully, then he will truly be “unmasked.”
