Nicolas Gauthier moves from France to Ecuador

After seven years at the port operator Portsynergy Projects in Fos and Le Havre (France), Nicolas Gauthier will take on a major new port project in Ecuador. The USD 1.2 billion project involves the construction of a new port complex in the Guayaquil region, the economic capital of Ecuador.

It is the largest investment project in the country, involving the construction of a new deep-water port, a logistics zone and access roads to the Posorja site on the Pacific coast, as well as a new river port in Guayaquil and the setting-up of barge services that will link the two sites.

Gauthier says: “I am naturally very excited by this new challenge, but I leave the companies I managed in France, the various boards I served on and especially the women and men with whom I worked for seven years with a lot of emotion.”

To ensure Gauthier’s succession, the board of directors has appointed Louis Jonquiere as interim CEO and should soon take steps to determine the future governance of the group. (mw)
