Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle

Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle
In Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle, Brian Basco first throws his girlfriend off the plane.
Off to Hawaii in Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle
Brian Basco and Gina Timmins grabbed the mafia's money and flew to Hawaii on vacation. The second part of Runaway is Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle. It begins with Brian throwing Gina off the plane. In fact, he and Gina wanted to visit the waterfalls on the tropical island of Mala during their Hawaiian vacation. The plane, as rickety as its pilot, crashes. To save Gina, Brian gives her the only parachute on board.
If you read the first part of Runaway played, you will be thrilled with the second part, I would say now. However, there is a big damper for me at the moment. Before I tell you about the damper, I would like to introduce you to the game.
Runaway 2 - The Sequel
Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle was released in 2006 and is the sequel to the point & click adventure Runaway – A Road Adventure. The graphics are in comic style. The developers are the Spanish Péndulo Studios.
The Gameplay of Runaway 2
The classic point & click game awaits you. As in the first part, you will puzzle your way through 6 extensive chapters in which you will encounter over 25 characters. As in the first part, the backgrounds are hand-drawn in 3D. The characters are 3D animated. The game has better graphics, improved video quality and a great soundtrack.
Acquaintances
In Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle you have more playing time than with Runaway 1 and the puzzles are sometimes trickier. The story itself follows on from the first part with its likeable madness. Brian encounters pirates, spies, surfers, soldiers, aliens, silent monks, drunken monkeys and the cute Lokelani. Even old acquaintances from part 1 will cross your path! The humor is by no means neglected and you puzzle yourself from the dense jungle to the snowy peaks in the mountains.
Gameplay issues in Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle
And here comes my big downer. I played the game a long time ago. Back then there was a system called "Windows XP"! There was a lot of fun. Now I'm crying after my beautiful original game that I bought back then.
Even after the installation, which only works for me on my laptop, and the patching because the game doesn't run otherwise, I'm still annoyed. Wherever even the smallest snowflake appears, the animations finally jerk through the landscape. This leads to a point in said mountains where the game becomes unplayable. That's why there will be no lyrics for this part for the time being.
The following addendum from my side: Runaway 2 is playable again on my laptop.

The following points in Runaway 2 - The Dream of the Turtle are important:
Don't get the idea of installing the old DirectX and remove the tick. Install the game normally. Then install the current one Runaway 2 patches. Lastly, download the D3D window. Extract the files of the program directly into the directory from Runaway 2. Open the D3D window and drag the exe file from Runaway 2 in. Click the exe file once, then the triangle in the D3D window and then click on the small PC in the D3D window. The game then does not start in full-screen mode, but in window mode, and that without stuttering.
Important: Some DVD devices have problems with the DVD from Runaway 2. Unfortunately, I can't say exactly why that is. Sometimes I've read that it's supposed to be due to the blanks that were used for the game. These are said to have been a bit larger, causing problems for some DVD players. I can't say more about that.
Unfortunately, this variant does not work either. i get Runaway 2 started without any problems in window mode, but unfortunately the game doesn't save and keeps crashing.
What about you guys? Has one of you recently "Runaway 2 - Dream of the Turtle" played? Is there a way to get the game to run smoothly without stuttering? Does the Steam version work better?
