David Beckham admits he ‘stuffed his pants with socks’ for iconic Armani underwear advert, claims James Corden

DAVID Beckham stuffed his pants with socks for his iconic Armani underwear advert, according to James Corden.

The pictures showed David, 43, sporting a bulging pair of pants, but the comedian is convinced the former footballer had some extra help.

James, 39, made the claim when talking about the time he tried to copy David's Armani shoot for a spread in Heat magazine.

The comedian said David got in touch with him afterwards to confess his sock shame.

James told the publication: "David told me he had more pairs of socks in his pants than I had in mine."

It's been 20 years since David was named the face - and body - of the design house's underwear range.

He stripped off for a sizzling series of ads which cemented his place as an international sex symbol.

Becks previously revealed he landed the gig through his wife Victoria's fashion connections.

He said: "I’ve been a big fan of his [Georgio Armani's] style for a long time...

"And, through the years, my wife and I have become friends with him, so I’m happy to be working with him now.

"For me Giorgio Armani is a man who has been at the top of his game for more than thirty years."

The Armani gig is just one of the multi-million pound endorsement deals Becks has landed over the years.

He's built his fortune on the back of deals with some of the world's biggest brands, including Pepsi, IBM, Adidas and Walt Disney.

James Corden was speaking to heat to celebrate its 1000th issue.
