1991 Ferrari F40

The 90s was a decade of opulence and luxury and this shines through in the supercars built in the era – a fact that is admirably illustrated by this 1991 Ferrari F40 that is going under the hammer with RM Sotheby’s (for an admittedly eye-watering price tag). With a guide price of between £2-2.5m, this lot is for serious luxury car aficionados only but, if you’ve got the cash, it’ll be one of the most striking Ferraris on the market.

This modestly driven and well-maintained example of Maranello’s important 40th-anniversary supercar has definitely captured our attention here at The Coolector given our, borderline obsession, with the Italian supercar. This 1991 Ferrari F40 from RM Sotheby’s has matching-numbers body, chassis, engine, and gearbox and mid-production European-specified car with wind-up windows.

With under 10,000km on the clock, this fantastic Ferrari is presented in remarkably good condition and it has been serviced by Modena Cars SA of Geneva over 2020 and 2021 to ensure the immaculate aesthetics and performance you see before you. According to a history report by marque expert Marcel Massini, this Ferrari completed assembly in May 1991, specified for the European market with instruments in kilometres, equipped with wind-up windows, and characteristically finished in Rosso Ferrari paint over an interior of Stoffa Vigogna upholstery.
