Jean-Claude Van Damme reveals secret to his ripped body – and you’ve probably drank a pint of it
HE is known as the Muscles from Brussels thanks to the physique he has shown off in action films including Bloodsport, Universal Soldier and Kickboxer.
Now Jean-Claude Van Damme has revealed the secret to his hardcore workout regime – and for once it is something I can totally get behind.
In an exclusive chat at the launch of his Old Oak Irish Whiskey, Jean-Claude said: “I was drinking a lot of Guinness. Guinness is a good drink because it has a lot of iron.
"So when you wake up the next day and go to the gym, it is bene- ficial. I know that when I have a Guinness I feel very strong for training the next day.”
I’ll give it a try the next time I head to David Lloyd.
Jean-Claude also praised actors following in his footsteps in the action film world, including brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth.
The actor starred in Expendables II with Liam in 2012 and said he was impressed by how far the brothers had come.
He added: “They are handsome boys. They are great actors and they are in good condition.
“I like the new generation. I put my hands up, these films aren’t easy to make.”

Suki chances her charm
ROBERT PATTINSON and Suki Waterhouse made a rare public appearance together at a charity gala in LA.
The British actors have been dating for five years – a lifetime in Hollywood – and moved in together some six months ago.
She spilled the beans on the next step in their relationship this month, admitting she is untidy.
Suki confessed: “I’m very lucky because he is so accepting of the mess and the chaos. He never says anything about it.

Chatting to bandmate Emma Bunton on Heart Radio, Ginger Spice said: “I’m focusing on Rosie, I like to give 150 per cent.”
The singer turned author has been touring the US and UK signing copies of Rosie Frost & The Falcon Queen, her first foray into young adult fiction, which came out this month.
It’s been a busy year for Geri after her return to acting in movie Gran Turismo.
Spice Girls fans will be hoping she is less busy next year.

Stones all set for No1
THE ROLLING STONES are outselling the rest of the Top Ten combined with Hackney Diamonds, their first album of new material in almost two decades.
Since its release on Friday 55,000 copies have been snapped up.
If sales continue in the same vein this week, which seems a sure bet at the moment, it will be their 14th No1 album, one fewer than record holders The Beatles.
It’s a big week for other bands too.
According to midweek data from Official Charts, Blink-182 are at No2 with One More Time . . . and Bombay Bicycle Club are on course to go to No3 with My Big Day.
