The American disco group, whose hits include Macho Man, In the Navy and YMCA, have been on the music scene for nearly 40 years. On Friday 19 May, they made a surprise appearance on the red carpet at this year's Cannes Film Festival in Nice, France, before a performance to a star-studded audience for the Cinema Against Aids Gala.

- Mark Mussler (construction worker), later replaced David Hodo, and then Mark Lee in 1982. By October 2013, Bill Whitefield was in the role
- David Forrest (cowboy), later replaced by Randy Jones, and in 1980 Jeff Olson, then in 2013 Jim Newman
- Peter Whitehead (one of the group's early songwriters) appeared in the video for the group's first hit, San Francisco (You Got Me)
