Jean Gueguinou Farewell party
The French Ambassador, Jean Gueguinou, made so many friends during his five very successful years in London that he held a private farewell party for 500 of them. In the garden of the ambassadorial residence, they enjoyed the finest champagne and French food prepared by the ambassador's two chefs. Several guests were wearing medals bestowed by the French President: red ribbons for holder of the Légion d'Honneur; green for members of l'Ordre National des Arts et des Lettres; and blue for the National Order of Merit. The French always do things with such style. Typically, the evening went with a swing - the ambassador is known for hosting the very best parties in London. Lucky Holy See to have him as the new French ambassador.
