A documentary on Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will focus on one of the most intense stretches of the NFL veteran’s career.
Matthew Stafford: Locked In will debut April 18 on the Rams’ digital platforms, NFL Network and local broadcast stations. The film is directed by Justin Polk, director and founder of Invisible Collective, and will be co-produced by the Rams and Steve Cundari, co-founder of Summit House.
“While we set out to pull the curtain back from one of the most intense stretches of our season—two games in five days, as our season unfolded, we recognized we had a bigger story to tell,” Kathryn Kai-ling Frederick, the Rams’ chief marketing officer, said during a South by Southwest panel in Austin, Texas, on Monday.
Viewers will get insight into Stafford’s preparation during the stretch of the 2023 season when the Rams defeated the Washington Commanders and New Orleans Saints en route to finishing the season on a four-game win streak. Fans will see scenes from meetings and training sessions Stafford was involved in.
The documentary also gives a look into Stafford’s return to Detroit, where he spent the first dozen years of his career and lost in the opening round of the most recent postseason to conclude a 10-7 season for the Rams.
Los Angeles Rams Studios along with Cundari’s team at Ritual Film Co. led filming efforts. Revolve and NFL Films edited the trailer and feature, respectively.
