Located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, the Musée Bourdelle is housed in the apartments, studios and gardens where sculptor Antoine Bourdelle lived and worked from 1885 onwards. At the end of his life, Antoine Bourdelle, like Rodin, planned to create his own museum in Paris. His wish was granted in 1949, with the creation of the Musée Bourdelle.

The gardens feature many of the sculptor's bronze works, including Le Fruit, Héraklès archer, the bas-reliefs for the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and Adam and Penelope. This timeless setting, far from the hustle and bustle of the capital, is sure to delight those in search of greenery.

The program for Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024 at the Musée Bourdelle in Paris:

  • Concert in the garden
    June 1 and 2

    Concert in the garden

In keeping with the "five senses" theme of the 2024 Rendez-vous aux Jardins, the Musée Bourdelle invites the public to a musical afternoon under the garden's arcades. Divided into 3 short concerts featuring Mathilde Lauridon on violin, Isabelle Dubuis on piano and Florian Lauridon on cello, this musical journey offers an opportunity to discover rare works, such as Joseph Haydn's inventive and intimate F# minor trio, or the little-known figure of Theodor Kirchner, a Romantic musician and friend of both Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The program concludes with Johannes Brahms' masterful 3rd Trio in C minor, whose strength, simplicity and energy evoke Bourdelle's sculpture.
At 3 pm, 4 pm and 5 pm
Duration of each concert: approx. 20 min

    Program 1 at 3 pm:
Robert Schumann: Six Pieces in Canon Form Op. 56 for pedal-piano, transcription for Trio by Theodor Kirchner
