1. Welcome, and thank you for joining us for today’s presentation, in which we will providing you with an introduction to Overland Storage.
2. As part of this session, we’ll be looking at company highlights past, present and future … we’ll be discussing our recent acquisition of Tandberg Data and the synergies that exist with the newly combined company … we’ll be addressing how we, as a combined entity, plan to support our customers moving forward … and we’ll look at Overland’s vision for the future. Overland Storage has established our dominance in the market by serving as a trusted provider of data management and data protection solutions, with the combined revenues of Overland Storage and Tandberg Data now representing approx. $111m annually. We bring our products to market through a worldwide reseller channel of over 16,000 experienced partners focused on small to medium enterprise markets, and we provide sales and support to our customers in more than 60 countries across the globe. Delivering customer-proven technologies, Overland is proud to have delivered our solutions to more than 1,000,000 installations worldwide, consisting of NAS, RDX, SAN and tape automation solutions. As a leader in technology innovation and keenly focused on protecting our intellectual property, Overland Storage has issued over 45 patents, with 21additional patents pending. We’ve now expanded our focus into enterprise virtualization of storage and applications and are working to quickly bring those solutions to market. And, finally, in January of 2014 we completed the acquisition of Tandberg Data.

Other advantages of tape-based data storage include: Scalability: Scalability really involves 2 elements. 1st … Not only does tape-based storage provide scalable capacities by allowing you to range from 800GB on a tape to 6.25TB on a tape cartridge, but tape libraries allow you to scale the number of tape cartridge slots you are using. And the backward compatibility of LTO tape technology allows you to scale your storage capacities using previous and current generation tapes within the same application. Because tape libraries are so easily upgradable, you can also scale the capacity and performance of a tape library by upgrading the tape drive and tape cartridge technology in your library without having to change anything about the library. Not only does this allow you to scale your capacity and performance, but also provides superior investment protection and minimizes interruptions to data center activities. The 2nd, and more traditional way we talk about scalability, is the ability to scale multiple library modules together … which will significantly increase your storage capacities and speeds but still appear to the host as a single large library. This simplifies configuration and management, but still provides almost limitless capacity and performance capabilities. What are some of the other reasons people use tape? It’s easily portable … in fact, tape is still the most reliable way to move data from site to site or offsite for disaster recovery purposes. Also, it occupies a small footprint … providing up to 3PB of storage in less than 7 sq. ft. of floorspace. And the fact that its optimized for installation into <10u of rack space makes it the ideal solution for space constrained data centers Tape is also a go-to-storage technology for data centers because of it’s high level of security and ability to meet SOX and HIPPA and other regulatory compliant regulations. Whether it’s because of it’s limited user access technology, WORM or encryption key management, tape ensures that your data is securely stored, offering multiple levels of protection against unauthorized access.
