Dimitri Payet has vowed to take his club form with West Ham and project it onto the international stage.
Payet has been recalled to the French squad for the first time since June last year following a stunning season with West Ham in which he has scored eight goals and provided a further nine assists.
He struck a 30-yard free kick for France against Russia on Tuesday and hopes it will be a sign of things to come, saying: "My aim was to try to play as well with the national side as I have been with West Ham.
"It's a great return, making a difference is always what counts in football. It's a good omen for what's to come."
Payet will now be hopeful of making France's squad for the European Championships in June.
West Ham currently lie fifth in the Premier League and are only one point behind fourth placed Manchester City with eight games to play.
They face Crystal Palace on Saturday as they look to boost their chances of giving the Boleyn Ground the perfect send off by securing Champions League football for the first time in their history.
