2015 MEDIA INFORMATION

These policies have been designed to accommodate all media requests. These policies are
subject to revision at any time. Cory Nidoh will be your media host for all 2015 Sanford
Mainers games at Goodall Park.
Season Credentials
The Mainers will issue 2015 season credentials to individuals representing the local, regional or
national media. Requests for season credentials must be made by fax or phone. All season
credential requests are subject to review by the Sanford Mainers.
Game Day Credentials
The Mainers will issue 2015 game-day credentials to individuals who do not qualify for season
credentials, including freelance writers, monthly publications and visiting team broadcast
personnel. All game-day credential requests must be made by fax or phone no later than 24
hours in advance. Requests made on game day are not guaranteed.
Acceptable Credentials
The Mainers honor credentials from the following organizations: the NECBL, the NCAA,
Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, and the Baseball Writers Association of
America. Individuals from these organizations should notify the Mainers 24 hours in advance to
allow for additional press box accommodations.
Photo/Camera Credentials
Freelance photographers are asked to contact the Mainers office 24 hours in advance. Working
personnel with season/game-day credentials have access to Goodall Park without the need to
apply for additional credentials.
Media Entrance
Media requesting game-day credentials are asked to pick them up at the Mainers office at 909
Main Street Suite B, in Sanford by 2:00 p.m. on game days. Credentials may also be picked up
at the Goodall Park ticket window.
Interview Policy
All interview requests should be directed through the Mainers office. Interviews are granted
following approval by the Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations and the manager.
Players and coaches are available for interviews up to two hours prior to the scheduled first
pitch. Interviews are prohibited during rain delays and between games of a doubleheader. Postgame interviews will be available following a 10-minute cooling-off period. Requests for
interviews with members of the visiting team should be made through the appropriate
representative of that team.

Press Parking
Parking at Goodall Park is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Members of the press
are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a parking spot.
Pre-game Schedule
All 2015 Sanford Mainers home games are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The Mainers batting practice
will begin at approximately 4:45 p.m. and they will be followed by the visiting team at 5:15 p.m. The
Mainers will take their infield practice at 5:50 p.m., followed by the visitors at 6:00 p.m. Final field
preparations by the grounds crew will begin at 6:10 p.m. Please note that prior to any given game either
team may elect to not take batting and/or infield practice for a variety of reasons.
Press Box
The Goodall Park press box is located behind home plate. Members of the media may access the press
box by displaying their credentials at the press box door. The press box is limited to members of the
media, broadcast personnel and Mainers front office and is off-limits to all those without
credentials.
Press Packets/Game Notes
Press packets and game notes, including rosters and statistics for both teams, will be available no later
than 90 minutes prior to the scheduled first pitch. A lineup will be posted in the press box no later than
30 minutes prior to the scheduled first pitch.
Radio/TV Broadcasts
Requests for broadcasting space should be made no later than a week prior to the game. Members of the
home and visiting broadcast teams are given priority press box space at each home game.
Mainers Broadcasts
All Sanford Mainers games are broadcast live on the Internet as part of the NECBL Broadcast Network
and Pointstreak. Games can be accessed by visiting sanfordmainers.com or necbl.com. Cory Nidoh will
serve as the clubs lead broadcaster all summer long.
Mainers on the Air

Cory Nidoh is the new voice of the Sanford Mainers this season. A graduate from East Stroudsburg University in his home state of Pennsylvania, he
earned a B.A in Communication Studies along with a minor in Digital Media Technology. The 22-year-old spent his past two summers working as an
intern with the Media Relations department for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate for the New York Yankees. With his time
there, he served as a fill-in host for the pre-game and post-game show on
The Game Radio Network, 100.7 FM, along with being a fill-in color analyst for televised games. He also conducted interviews with the team and
wrote for their game day publication The Guide Rail.
At ESU, Nidoh handled the play-by-play for 90.3 WESS, the 2014 MTVU
Woodie Award winning college radio station. He was a part of the broadcasting crew during the historical 30 win season for the Mens Basketball team in 2013-14 which included a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship and hosting the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. He also served as
Station Manager and Sports Director in his last three years with the station.

ABOUT THE NECBL
The New England Collegiate Baseball League is summer baseball at its best! The
NECBL was founded in 1993 under the leadership of Emmy Award-winning television
producer/ director Joseph Consentino, former St. John's University and Boston Red
Sox minor league outfielder. George Foster, former Cincinnati Reds and New York
Mets All-Star HR and RBI leader, was the NECBLs first Commissioner.
Play started in 1994 and today the NECBL has become a nationally recognized top-tier
league that plays in all six New England states and recruits players attending U.S colleges from New England, the other forty-three States and foreign countries.
The League starts its summer season in early June and plays an eight week 42 game
per team schedule. The League Championship is determined by a playoff in early August. Each year our top players are scouted and selected in the MLB Draft.
Any student who wishes to play in our League must be currently enrolled in a NCAA/
NJCAA sanctioned College or University, be in good academic standing, have completed one year of athletic eligibility and have at least one year of eligibility remaining.
The league strongly suggests that student athletes have their College coach and/or a
MLB scout recommend them to any or all of our General Managers. Their phone numbers and email addresses can be found at their team's pages.

Celebrating 100 Years at Goodall Park
Originally built in 1919, Goodall Park is a treasured historical landmark for Sanford and the surrounding region. On October 1, 1919, Babe Ruth
played his final game in a Boston Red Sox uniform when he led the Red Sox against the Sanford Professionals in an exhibition game. Ruth
homered in the eighth inning to erase a 3-1 deficit in the contest. Goodall has since hosted some of the finest amateur baseball talent in all of New
England, earning praise from many (including Team U.S.A.) in the process.
The current structure is actually quite new. On May 10, 1997, much of the original structure was destroyed by fire. The city of Sanford hired
CIVIL Consultants to design an 800-seat grandstand stadium. The new Goodall Park was designed to mimic modern stadiums while retaining
architectural features of the old ballpark. The new facility was designed to blend in with the quaint Sanford downtown located just a block away.
Sanford residents asked that the old roof be retained because it provided unobstructed views. CIVIL Consultants determined that a modern
cantilever roof would be the best fit, as two columns support the roof without obstructing views of the action. The new Goodall Park was
completed in April, 1999 and was rededicated on July 16, 1999.
With the help of Allen Mapes and the people of Sanford and surrounding communities, there have been several improvements to the park since
the reconstruction. Rod iron fencing was put in place of the old chain-link fencing that surrounded the park prior to the 2011 season. The parking
lot behind the fence of the Little League field across the street that served as primary parking for Mainers home games was paved and lined to fit
more vehicles.
Just in time for the 2012 season, the field of Goodall had its first major facelift in many years. With the fence getting weaker and the light poles
being in the open in the outfield, the city successfully put up a new fence that went in front of the light poles. With this addition, the once uneven
outfield was leveled off and had a warning track added around the perimeter. Lastly, a new nine-inning scoreboard fit for both baseball and
Sanford High School Field Hockey was added.
The 2015 campaign marks the 100th anniversary of the historic park and also the first year Goodall Park will host an NECBL All-Star game
which is scheduled for Sunday, July 19th. On the day of the game, prior to the contest, there will be a Home Run Derby and a Special Skills
Competition for Most Accurate Arm and Fastest Runner.

ABOUT THE MAINERS
The Sanford Mainers are entering their 14th season in the NECBL this upcoming campaign. They play at the historic Goodall
Park which holds 1,000 fans and filled with baseball history in the New England region. The Mainers take great pride in hosting an
NECBL team as Sanford is a baseball enriched community with the earliest games played 1915.
Since their inception, the Mainers have been successful on the field and become a perennial playoff contender appearing in
the playoffs eleven times, including seven straight appearances from 2008-14. They are also two-time NECBL Champions, hoisting
the Fay Vincent Cup in 2004 and 2008. Last year, the Mainers reached the championship season for a third time in franchise history
but could not beat the Newport Gulls in quest of another championship.
Off the field, the Mainers front staff along with volunteers make each game as enjoyable as possible for fans of all ages. In
addition to providing quality baseball on the diamond, the Mainers also have promotional giveaways, birthday parties, and baseball
camps. The players and coaches run a great summer camp right here in Sanford, and all youngsters are encouraged to contact the
Mainers for camp enrollment information.
In addition to the summer camp, the Sanford Mainers will also be the host team for the 2015 NECBL All-Star Game! The
festivities begin on July 19th and will include a homerun derby and a skills competition prior to the game which will feature the top
talent in the NECBL. It will provide a great opportunity for the city of Sanford and the Mainers faithful to see such great talent
throughout the league. Also, keep a lookout for Broose DMoose strolling around Goodall Park meeting old friends and making new
ones!
Along with the staff and volunteers, host families play a vital part with the team as they generously feed and house the players
in order for them to hone their skills on the field and also help out in the community. Host families and volunteers are the backbone of
the Sanford Mainers organization. It is truly a family affair and we hope that you will bring your family to Sanford and continue the
rich tradition of baseball that has existed in this town before Babe Ruth stepped up to the plate at historic Goodall Park.

FRONT OFFICE STAFF

John Webb General Manager
John is the teams General Manager. Appointed General Manager in 2010, he
spent the previous four years as an assistant under Sanford's previous GM,
Neil Olson. John was born and raised in Sanford, attended Maine Maritime
Academy and Vermont Law School, and is an attorney with the law firm of
Nichols & Webb, P.A.
Upon joining the board of directors, then Chairman Joseph Vitko assigned him
to Baseball Operations and he began traveling with Mr. Olson throughout New England to
represent the Mainers at the monthly league meetings and other events. John's responsibilities
grew from taking notes to actually representing the team during the league meetings and the
regular season. John feels that the Town of Sanford gave him a great foundation upon which to
build as a young man, and hopes his volunteer service to the town will repay that debt. He is an
avid baseball fan, and a proud member of Red Sox Nation.
Sue Hurley Businees Manager

Hurley was first involved with the Mainers in the final game of the teams inaugural season
in 2002 and has been a part of the team from that point forward. The following season, the
Massachusetts native became a season ticket holder and began volunteering with the team.
In her early time with the Mainers, she assisted the Business Manager, served as a
photographer and helped in other capacities.
In 2006, Hurley became a member of the Board of Directors and climbed up to the
Secretary of the board in 2013. Since being a part of the board she has been responsible for scheduling bat
boys and girls and served as the volunteer coordinator last season.
Now achieving a dream she had since 2004, Hurley will have responsibilities involving vital aspects
of the team in conjunction to how collegiate baseball teams operate in the summer. She will oversee the
Mainers office, develop sponsorships, choose a host family coordinator, responsible for transportation for the
team for road games and more.

Jacob Ouellete Webmaster
Jacob has been a part of the Sanford Mainers organization since his
family started hosting Mainers players in 2004. Soon after he and his brother
started volunteering for the organization in many differerent areas. In 2012,
Jacob was appointed the Director of Broadcast and Media for the team, while
following up with another year in 2013. Jacob graduated Emerson College in
Boston in May of 2014 with a degree in broadcast journalism. Jacob currently
works for The Times Record in Brunswick, ME as a sports reporter.

As Mainers manager, he has sent a total of 32 Mainers to the leagues All-Star Game.
Izaryk has brought the team to the playoffs all six years.

Current Job: Husson University pitching coach
First Year as Sanford Pitching Coach
Morris is a two-sport coach at Husson University where he is

the Cornerbacks coach for the football team and pitching coach
for the baseball team.
He brings championship experience to Sanford, winning a championship with the North

Bush is a nine year Major League veteran who retired in 2014 from a
12 year pro career, joins the staff as the bench coach.
Bush was drafted in the 2nd round by the Toronto Blue Jays. Bush pitched for the Blue
Jays, Rangers & Brewers over his ten year career, and also spending time with the SK
Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization.
In the MLB he posted a 56-59 career record with a 4.73 ERA. In 2006-07 while with the
Brewers, he posted back-to-back 12-win seasons.

staff at Allentown Central Catholic. Rosenberger was dominant despite battling elbow tendinitis.
With a 4-0 record, sparkling 0.80 ERA and 70 strikeouts in just 34 innings, the Cavaliers liked what
they saw. With the Cavalier, Rosenberger has appeared in at least 15 games since the beginning of his
career. His freshman year, he was thrown in the fire early facing other iconic ACC teams such as North
Carolina and Virginia Tech, where he threw three scoreless innings against the Hokies in an ACC
Tournament game. This season, he is 2-0 with a 6.26 ERA in 15 appearances.

two-headed monster for the staff of Scarborough High School back in the day. Although having to go through Tommy John surgery and unable to pitch his freshman year, the University
of Rhode Island still wanted him on their staff. With the Mainers last season, he posted a 1-3
record with a 3.50 ERA in seven appearances including six starts. He averaged a hit per inning in 36 innings of work including an impressive 16-to-3 strikeout to walk ratio.

For the Mt. Washington, Kentucky native, pinch hitting became an artwork.
He painted his canvas in his first season with the Western Kentucky University
Hilltoppers. The 6-foot-1 catcher was WKUs go-to pinch hitter. In just 57 atbats, the switch hitter accumulated 14 hits while driving in 15 runs and drawing
nine walks. When recruited by WKU, head coach Matt Meyers said Hunter
has a great work ethic and wants to be successful, and I think he will have a big
impact in our program, according to wkusports.com.

2014 SEASON IN REVIEW

The 2014 season for the Sanford Mainers was another successful campaign for the team
as they finished with the second best record in the Northern Division with a 24-18 record and
finished three games behind the Vermont Mountaineers. The winning season marked the
fourth time in the last seven years the Mainers were above sea-level.
The season commenced with the Mainers on the road against the Newport Gulls at the
historic Cardines Field. Sanford came up short falling to Newport 9-3 but Oakland, Maine
native Sam Dexter had a three-hit night to start his season off.
The Mainers first win of the season would come the night after the loss in Newport as
they welcomed the Mainers faithful with an exciting walk-off win over the North Adams
SteepleCats 9-8 at the historic Goodall Park. With Sanford up 5-1 after six innings, North
Adams offense pushed across seven unanswered runs in the later third of the game to take an 85 lead into the ninth. After Sanford chipped away, they tied it on a fielders choice and with a
runner on third base, Dexter was up to bat when a passed ball scampered past the SteepleCats
catcher Mike Hernandez and Nick Lovullo hurried home to secure the victory for the hometown
Mainers.
After the initial win, the Mainers would play .500 ball before another exciting extra
inning game against the SteepleCats again. The second games in the head-to-head matchup was
also ended in unlikely fashion with a wild pitch for the Sanford win. The third matchup between
the two teams featured a pitching duel as Sanfords starter Nick Poore brought a no-hitter into
the eighth inning before North Adams broke it up in the inning. The game would go to the tenth
inning and again, the Mainers would win on a wild pitch.
As the calendar flipped to July, the Mainers continued to heat up along with the New
England summer. Sanford, in the midst of a five-game winning streak and a run of nine wins in
ten games, took a grasp of the Northern Division for the first time with a 13-8 record.
A week later, although a season high nine-game winning streak was snapped in a 2-1
loss to Keene, good news was still to be had for the Mainers. Heading into the mid-season
break of the All-Star game, Sanford owned the best record in the North 16-8. Sanfords Aaron
Izaryk was named Northern Division All-Star Manager.
Five Mainers were selected to the Northern Division All-Star team in addition to the
Mainers coaching staff at the helm. Christian Lavoie, and closer Cam Hatch were the two arms
selected which helped solidify one of the best pitching staffs in the league. Lavoie entered the
break with a 2-1 record with a dazzling 1.16 ERA in five starts. Hatch, who anchored the back
of the bullpen, had six saves tied for the most saves heading in to the break.
Offensively, Stevie Berman, Drake Parker and Matt Pagano were also selected from the
Mainers. Parker paced the Mainers with a .308 contact clip while playing stellar defense in the
outfield. Pagano used bookend surges at the plate to raise his average to .271 heading into the
break.
The week ensuing included rain outs, and an up-and-down performance for the Mainers
who couldnt formulate another lengthy winning streak. They were however able to play .500
ball over the next ten games and secured second place in the Northern Division. With a few
game left, in the regular season, the Mainers tried to chase their inter-division foes, the
Vermont Mountaineers.

The Mainers were unsuccessful in catching the Mountaineers in hopes of capturing
their first Northern Division Title since their championship season back in 2008. However,
they were in the NECBL playoffs for the 11th time in the franchises 13 year history. In the
first round of the playoffs, the Mainers faced the Keene Swamp Bats who had the Mainers
number the previous three meetings. Keene made it a fourth consecutive time the Mainers
were on the losing end as they took the first game of the series by the score of 4-1.
Sanford, now with their backs against the wall needed a must-win performance to keep
their season alive. Rich Vrana whiffed eight Swamp Bats in seven innings of work and
NECBL saves leader, Cam Hatch, closed the game out to blank the Swamp Bats 3-0 to force a
deciding game three.
Game three, needed late inning heroics and the hero was an unlikely player in Kevin
Stypulkowski. Entering the game with a .179 average, Stypulkowski poked a two-out, two-run
single in the bottom of seventh to tie the game 3-3. In the 10th inning, Sam Dexter swung at
the first pitch he saw and drove in the game-winning run to advance the Mainers to the Northern Division Finals against the Vermont Mountaineers.
Riding the momentum from the night before, the Mainers took care of the Mountaineers
4-1. The game was tied at one run apiece after four innings. A crooked three run sixth led the
Mainers to victory to put the pressure on the Mountaineers. After rain delayed game two for an
hour after a pair of scoreless innings, play resumed and the Mainers answered a two run top of
the third by the Mountaineers with five runs of their own taking a 5-2 lead.
Sanford used another big inning in the sixth, scoring four runs to ward off Vermonts
offensive attack in the middle innings en route to Northern Division Title clinching 9-6 victory.
With the win, the Mainers earned another trip to the Fay Vincent Cup Championship Series,
the first time since 2008, when the Mainers won it all.
Heading in to the championship series, the Mainers were on a four-game winning
streak in the playoffs, headed to historic Cardines Field to face the formidable Newport Gulls.
In a battle of number two seeds, the Mainers fell to Newport by the score of 5-0, being outhit
12-to-3 after their offense was rolling in the previous two rounds of the playoffs.
Game two was at Goodall Park and the Mainers needed a win to force a deciding game
three. With Vrana, the Mainers ace, on the hill, he held the Gulls in check for five full innings
before the Gulls got to the starter for three runs to chase him out of the game. The Gulls would
go on to score another five runs against Mainers relievers to take a commanding 8-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th.
Sanfords offense exploded for five runs in the bottom half of the frame to make it 8-5.
Down to their last at-bats, the Mainers produced a rally in the bottom of the ninth. The Mainers had runners on the corners with one out, but back-to-back strikeouts ended the threat and
the Mainers season.
Although it was a tough way to end the season not hoisting the Fay Vincent Championship Trophy up after the long summer, the Mainers had many positives to take from the 2014
campaign.

The Mainers compiled the most wins in a season under manager Aaron Izaryk with the
24 victories. The pitching staff was one of the best in the NECBL posting the second lowest
team ERA and a franchise record setting 2.70 ERA. Sanford also tied the franchises longest
winning streak set in 2008 with nine consecutive victories spanning from 6/28 to 7/9.
Sanfords appearance in the Fay Vincent Cup Championship series was the third for the
franchise and marks the fourth most appearances in the championship series in the NECBL.
(Newport 11, Keene (6), three teams with (4) and Sanford (3)).
Cam Hatch, the Mainers closer earned the NECBL Reliever of the Year Award after his
sterling season. The southpaw paced the team with eight saves and was just one shy for the
league lead. Opponents hit just .174 in the 13.1 innings he pitched. In postseason play, the anticipated draft pick held the opposition to an impeccable .077 batting average.
The Mainers faithful packed Goodall Park eclipsing the 10,000 mark in terms of attendance for the 10th time in franchise history as they cheered on the hometown Mainers on an impressive season.
The players, coaching staff, and front office would like to thank all the volunteers and

In 2014, seven former Sanford Mainers were selected in the Major League Baseball draft, the most since 2012
when eight former Mainers were drafted. Since 2003, fifty-six Mainers were drafted or played professional
baseball, including four in the Major Leagues.

Kevin, who has averages 11 wins
in the past three seasons for the
Minnesota Twins, played for the
Sanford Mainers in 2004. He is
currently a free agent after battling
for a rotation spot for the Philadelphia Phillies this Spring Training.
Andy Sonnanstine
Jason Motte
Pitcher, Retired
Pitcher, Chicago Cubs
A 13-game winner for the Tampa Bay

Rays in 2008, Andy took the mound
for the Mainers in the summers of
2002 and 2003. His last MLB appearance was Sept. 20, 2011 with the
Rays.
A 2002 Mainer, the converted catcher was a

stronghold in the Cards bullpen, appearing in
a total of 125 games in 2009 and 2010.
Motte also won his first World Series with the
Cardinals last MLB season. He currently is
with the Chicago Cubs serving as a relief
pitcher.
Michael RothPitcher, Los Angeles Angels Roth played for the Mainers in 2009 and 2010. Won two College
World Series titles with the University of South Carolina. He made his Major League debut with the Angles on April
13, 2013. Roth went 2-1 in 22 appearances including one start. He currently is in the Cleveland Indians system.
Ryan ReidPitcher, Pittsburgh Pirates After being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2006, Reid spent his
professional career in the Rays minor league system. The pirates purchased Reids contract and called him up on
June 3, 2013. He was designated for assignment later that year and was picked up by the New York Mets.
