With a reported net worth of around US$160 million and the likelihood that he will bag an additional US$25 million for his as-yet-unreleased Bond flick and the two sequels to Knives Out, you’d think he’d be keen to pass on his wealth to his two daughters. Instead the No Time to Die star recently declared inheritance to be “distasteful”.

Craig told Candis magazine: “I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go,” adding, “Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?”

He’s not the only celebrity to want to give away the large majority of his considerable fortune rather than spoiling his children. Bill and Melinda Gates have also gone on record in the past about their humble parenting style, though their children are still likely to inherit around US$10 million each.
