Fender Releases Player Plus Series Guitars

Fender’s Player Plus series presents guitarists with the most advanced entry-level instruments Fender has ever offered. With a stacked lineup of Fender classics updated with some of the most cutting-edge and modern Fender features available, the Player Plus series rolls out the red carpet for Fender newcomers and experts alike. It’s a series you will not want to miss.

The Fender Player Plus Stratocaster SSS and HSS

For every Fender fan, the Stratocaster is a classic standby and go-to for Fender’s finest tone and playability, and the Player Plus is of no exception. The Player Plus Stratocaster is constructed with an alder body, maple neck, and pau ferro and maple fingerboards. Each maple neck is shaped in a Fender Modern “C”-profile, and as always, the Stratocaster is effortlessly playable and comfortable in hand, only enhanced by the addition of Fender’s rolled fingerboard edges.

Once in hand, the voice of the Player Plus Stratocaster comes alive with Fender Player Plus Noiseless single-coil pickups. These electronics produce classic single-coil tones all without unwanted hum when performing or recording. The Stratocaster’s three single-coil pickup configuration is supplemented by a push/pull pot that actives all three pickups at once for a new tonal combination. The Player Plus Stratocaster is matched by a humbucker-equipped counterpart, the Player Plus Stratocaster HSS . The HSS is equipped and designed with all the same great features of the SSS model, but with a humbucking pickup loaded in the bridge position. The push/pull capabilities of the HSS coil split the humbucker to produce single-coil tones in classic Fender fashion. With versatile tonal options like these, the new Player Plus Stratocasters make names for themselves all their own.

These Stratocasters are outfitted with a two-point tremolo bridge, locking tuners, twenty-two medium jumbo frets, and new color finishes such as Tequila Sunrise.

The Fender Player Plus Telecaster and Nashville Telecaster

You simply can’t have a new lineup without the Telecaster. The Player Plus Telecasters feature alder bodies and maple necks to get that Fender feeling in hand quickly. A Fender Modern “C” neck profile on each Telecaster makes for smooth trips up and down the maple and pau ferro fingerboards. The maple and pau ferro fingerboards are designed with Fender’s rolled fingerboard edges for effortless playability.

The Player Plus Telecaster is equipped with Player Plus Noiseless single-coil Telecaster pickups that produce all the great Telecaster tone without hum. Augmented with a push/pull pot, the Player Plus Telecaster pickups can be activated to run in series with one another for higher output. Accompanying the Player Plus Telecaster is the Player Plus Nashville Telecaster. This Telecaster uses all the same great features as its counterpart but with the addition of an added middle Stratocaster pickup. The pickup configuration on this guitar adds some extra versatility to the mix along with a push/pull pot to add the neck pickup to positions one and two on the five-way pickup selector switch. Mix and meld these three pickups as you see fit for a classic Telecaster experience with some added flair.

These Telecasters are outfitted with a six-saddle Telecaster bridge, locking tuners, twenty-two medium jumbo frets, and new color finishes such as Aged Candy Apple Red.

The Fender Player Plus Active Precision Bass and Active Jazz Bass

Rounding out the series are Fender’s classic bass models. These entries to the series offer bassists some new features and takes on classic Fender formulas. The three basses in this series all feature Modern “C”-shaped maple necks with satin finishes and rolled fingerboard edges for effortless playability.

The Player Plus Active Precision Bass features a Precision and Jazz bass combination pickup configuration. With an P Bass split single-coil pickup in the neck position and a Noiseless J Bass single-coil pickup in the bridge position, players are encouraged to tonally explore between the two distinct tones. The Active Precision Bass is outfitted with a three-band active EQ and switch to swap between active and passive modes.

The Player Plus Active Jazz Bass is loaded with two Player Plus Noiseless Jazz Bass single-coil pickups and a three-band active EQ. An active/passive toggle also lands on this Player Plus entry for versatile tonal options. The Player Plus Active Jazz Bass V completes this trio with all the excellent features of its four-stringed sibling, but with an added fifth low E string. These three basses feature twelve-inch fingerboard radiuses, HiMass bridges, and new color finishes like Cosmic Jade.
