Mirko Underrated movie on the WW2 Baltic, Estonian basis. Few flaws but watchable. Also was parodied on Estonian National tv for memes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Mickey S Pretty good. In the original language is way better then dubbed English. Worth the watch. ✌ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Unless you know Estonian you have to read the subtitles. The civil war going on in WW2 as half the blonde, blue eyed men are in the German SS and the other are in the Russian Red Army. Sad state about what happed in the Baltic region. Very good foreign movie; must watch for history buffs, WW2 heads, etc. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Good war movie! Great action scenes. And the characters are sympathetic. Watchable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member OK movie but disgusting to see Nazi baby killers propped up. By 1944 it was all over, Open retreat change uni time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review connor s A moving film, as is typical of war films. One sees the painful pointlessness of war, especially in a theatre such as this. This film seamlessly shifts from the perspective of Estonians fighting in the SS, to Estonians fighting in the Red Army. The only thing that really differentiates these soldiers is which hostile foreign army forcibly conscripted them into its ranks; they are not fighting for one side or the other, only their country and countrymen. One is reminded that in war there is no good vs evil, only one force against another. Both sides are good, both sides are bad. There are heroes on both sides, and monsters on both sides, but mostly just normal people trying to survive. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Chris Ball Cleveland Plain Dealer The film seamlessly shifts perspectives between the two sides but never hits you over the head with its message. Aug 18, 2017 Full Review Mark R. Leeper Mark Leeper's Reviews Perhaps this film is just one cut below the current DUNKIRK. This is a chapter of history that deserves to be better known. Rated: 7/10 Aug 7, 2017 Full Review Robin Clifford Reeling Reviews The frantic battle scenes have a believable feel and depict, without pulling a punch, all the horrors of war and its impact on the men who fight it. Rated: B Jul 28, 2017 Full Review Laura Clifford Reeling Reviews Instead of becoming immersed in war, I kept seeing storyboards brought to life. Yet as the film progresses, the human toll of brother fighting against brother overcomes this deficiency, involving us more in this little known tragedy of World War II.
