Nintendo importing Game Boy Advance gem Kuru Kuru Kururin to North America

Kururin's coming to Wii U Virtual Console

Another import-only Game Boy Advance release is coming to the North American Wii U Virtual Console: Kuru Kuru Kururin, developer Eighting's delightful action-puzzle game.

Kuru Kuru Kururin gives players control of Kururin's unusual helicopter-like ship, the Helirin, and challenges them with guiding the stick-shaped craft through a series of winding mazes. To succeed, they must avoid crashing into walls as the Helirin spins round and around.

Released in 2001 at the Game Boy Advance's launch, Kuru Kuru Kururin kicked off a series that spawned two sequels: 2002's Kururin Paradise for GBA and 2004's Kururin Squash! for GameCube. While the original game was released in PAL territories, the rest of the Kururin series remained Japan-only. Let's hope the GBA game's long-awaited domestic release is part of a larger trend.

Kuru Kuru Kururin will be released on Wii U Virtual Console Feb. 11 for $4.99, according to the official Nintendo website.
