Bach's epic three-hour Christmas Oratorio premiered in 1734. We have it here in a 4-record box set, performed by Bayerischen Rundfunks conducted by Eugen Jochum. Also in a highlights LP by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.

In addition to these two, Bach (1685-1750) also composed cantatas including such movements as "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." and chorale preludes like "We Christian People."
