The 1-pole mechanical panel-mounting thermostat is very robust due to its zinc-plated sheet steel case and can also be used in rough conditions. It operates according to the fluid expansion principle and can be used up to a maximum permissible probe temperature of 155°C without any problems. The smooth round sensor made of copper has a diameter of 6 mm with a probe length of approx. 68 mm. The capillary of the thermostat is also made of copper and can be laid flexibly with a bending radius of 5 mm. Electric insulating PVC protection tube covers the first 460mm from the switch head. The device has a capillary break protection, by which the switching contact is opened and goes into a neutral position in case of destruction of the measuring system. In this case, it is no longer possible to unlock the thermostat. The maximum permissible ambient temperature at the switch head (protection class IP00) is 80 °C. In addition, the temperature compensation reduces the ambient temperature influence at the switch head to a minimum. The switch head is fixed by two M4 x 28 screws with the aid of a fixing bracket. The desired shut-off temperature can be easily set on a scale with the aid of a screwdriver and is characterized by a high switching point accuracy of +0/-5 K in upper third of scale. A decisive advantage is that no additional auxiliary energy is necessary for temperature measurement. The electrical connection is made at the tab connectors (A 6.3 x 0.8 DIN 46244) of the switching unit, which can directly switch a maximum permissible switching capacity of AC 230 V/16. The thermostat has an unlocking difference of approx. 10 K in the upper third of the scale (approx. 45 K at the beginning of the scale), after which the device can be unlocked simply by pressing a button. The safety temperature limiter is very flexible and is used in heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology as well as in the plastics industry, apparatus and furnace construction and for temperature monitoring in laboratories and climatic chambers. The device is approved according to DIN EN 14597, DGRL and is also UL and EAC approval. Furthermore, it is RoHS conform and cadmium free.
