Capcom announced DuckTales Remastered, developed by WayForward Technologies during their "World of Capcom" panel at PAX East today! The overhauled a remade version of one of our favorite NES classics will cost $14.99 and release this summer on PSN, XBLA and the Wii U eShop.
With updated, hand-drawn visuals, Disney caliber voice acting and... and... oh dear, I can't restrain myself any longer! More information soon!
Sing along!
Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history
Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you
What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!
When it seems they're headed for the final curtain
Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain
The worst of messes become successes!
Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!
I hope they don't stop revisiting with this one.
honestly i'd be a little careful if i were you guys. this looks like another attempt to make some easy bucks based on something from the nostalgia box. this is not a Walt Disney movie, like so many remasters i don't expect it to share the glory of the original
i'd rather save the money and buy the original.
it's the same thing as with double dragon neon a while back. i have some pretty fond childhood memories with the original game boy version and even today i am still trying to beat that same old cassette without online assist from time to time but some games are best savored if you stick with the original. time has changed and it's creators have too..
just look at spyro for example. he's basically a Pokemon nowadays.

I so wish they'll make a TaleSpin game afterwards
Crying tears of nostalgia.
But I swear, if they screw up the Moon song somehow, I'll be FURIOUS.
Unfortunately I have to agree on remasters being more for nostalgic value and old classics alive than anything else. I really enjoyed Double Dragon Neon and the way WayForward poked fun at the 80s, but it also points out just how simplistic games like those are now. It sorta bums me out that a lot of these classics we grew up with are so comparable to these small digital games, you would be just as well off playing the original if you can live without the shiny new wrapper.
...but will gladly accept.
I still own that original copy (complete with box and booklet), but would gladly take an updated HD remake of it. Just as long as if you strip away the new graphics, it's still essentially the same, exact game I used to play.
