Tracey Edmonds is tired of the rumors about why she broke up with the college football coach, Deion Sanders, and has made a point of clearing her name explaining that she broke up with him to "prioritize herself".
She announced the shocking end to their relationship on December 3, compounding a miserable end to the year for Sanders who, in his football career, went from hero to zero really quick with the Colorado Buffaloes in the NCAA.
They had met and collaborated with each other professionally before beginning a relationship in 2012 that went on to last 11 years, with an engagement in 2019, but produced no children although they had parented with other people.
"I want to clarify that it was my decision to end the relationship," Edmonds posted on Instagram. "Despite any different narratives being presented.
"I've chosen to prioritize myself and my family, moving forward towards a future where I am valued, treated with honesty, and free to embrace the happiness and respect I deserve."
Edmonds later deleted the post, which included a shot at the media for spreading "out of control falsehoods", and she didn't explain why she had taken it down in a slightly bizarre moment.
At the time of the break-up, Edmonds had explained some reasons for why they were separating and assured they remain on amicable terms whilst thanking their family, friends and fans for their support over the years.
"We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life as friends," Edmonds said on December 3 via Instagram. "And have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other and appreciation for the time we've shared together."
