Hello All
I have two Emerson 2140 analyzers for sale. Switching over to another brand that does not charge the annual support fees. One is basic route analyzer, the other has the balance and analyze modules. They come with AMS software but I don't know if it can be transferred. Also all firmware and manual disks. I'm thinking 22k for the basic and 24k for the one with balance and analyzer.

Wow, the one on the right has seen some neglect. Those screens are very tough and would have taken quite an effort / carelessness to break. I'd be interested to know how you go with your other brand that does not charge support agreement. rgds

i understand CSI 2140 is on single user or if yoy have taken gold then multiple user so AMS MHM SUITE will work only on those PC so you have to supply with PC ONLY DATA collector for sale has very limited use

Unless you already have the AMS system and maybe a 2120 or 2130. The 2140 is a considerable upgrade from the 2130. The screen is much much better and will work in very cold weather (unlike the LCD screen of the 2140). Plus the 2140 is fast!

OP mentioned "they come with AMS Suite".  i assume this is the MHM computer software that goes with it.  In my experience the standard CSI response is - not transferable. So based on that no.

However, I did manage to transfer 2 licenses and made sure I retained the official acknowlegement from CSI for the first one. Then produced it, and they honoured it. So I have 2 licenses in my name.

So I wouldn't be paying top dollar for software in case CSI won't let you transfer.

As Rusty states, 2140 is better than the 2130. Re the 30 screen, I'm not sure why they let that one through. Shouldn't really have gone past trial testing.  There must have been management pleasing involved. The battery was also not good.  Whereas in the 40, the battery goes for 2 pretty solid days without a recharge.

Yes the 40 doesn't autorange since its amplitude resolution is so high it doesn't need to. That gains speed no doubt.  Other than that unless they come up with something defying physics I think it can't go much faster.  Reminds me of a brand I once used that showed a message on screen "data collected in 0.13 seconds". But then proceeded to write that to hard drive for the next 3 minutes before you could go to the next point. That was truly funny/ sad and as expected that unit went from zero too doorstop immediately.

Other than that I work for myself (and effectively have paid out of own pocket) and simply cannot fathom the abuse the one on the right in the photo suffered.  For that reason alone I would be gunning for rock bottom pricing if I was to need to purchase it. or look for one better looked after. rgds

Thanks for pointing out the broken screen, I did not yet go through these in detail and wanted to get them out there before I put on Ebay or anohter site in the event someone here had interest. It is a lot more obvious than looking at it directly, I thought it was just a scratched screen cover.

I am going to get pricing to send into Emerson to repair. As I remember back in the day, they charge a onetime fee to renew the support agreement such as a "penalty" for not paying every year when there is no need to repair. Then add on the yearly support agreement. I think the increase in value of it being in current support and current calibration will offset some of the repair costs.

As to the search on other systems, the Adash line looks like a good deal with no annual support agreements and a five-year warranty, and the four channel units include all the modules like balance etc. Does anyone else know of a multi-channel system that do not charge annual support agreements?  I heard Pruftechnik has made some changes since they are now going direct in the US.

I just got a hardware agreement renew for one year and penalization for our 2140.. it's was around 4.5k UDS

Ps: Mark_L is using the acoem falcon and he's pretty happy with it.

Yep my Acoem falcons changed my game entirely between data collection speed and sheer amount of versatility of the analysis and post processing capability. Only downside is no multiedit feature in database but it's a small hindrance, it's reporting setup and data presentation style more than makes up for it. And Also no recurring license Acoem only ask you keep it calibrated every 2 years

I have a 4-channel 2140 which *may* be for sale in about a year. It has the Bluetooth option so it works great with headphones. Has all the firmware options. It’s really hard for me to imagine selling it, but I can do balancing with just about anything (there’s really nothing special about Fastbal except maybe the ability to save/recall jobs in the meter) and I can’t see hanging onto a $20K instrument to use occasionally. We shall see.

How hard is to get an apprentice in your state? How hard is to fill a technical job? You already have the hard part filled... A brand! This is the hardest part to build

I currently have two CSI2130s and I confirm that you can buy yearly support for software consultancy or updates but you only purchase one software license (in italy from belgium)
you can sell the hardware but not the software, and software is very expensive...
I have over 20 years of data so next time I have to buy a new emerson-csi 21xx...
