Luke Perry and Alexis Arquette Were Friendship Goals

"I know Alexis is with him, I believe that," says Rosanna Arquette. "They loved each other deeply and were so close."

Rosanna and Patricia Arquette had nothing but kind words when remembering Luke Perry, who died Monday after suffering a massive stroke, particularly when it came to his decades-long friendship with their late sister Alexis.

“One of the memories that I have that is beautiful is when my mother was dying, Luke came and brought his new baby daughter and put her in bed with my mom, who was so happy,” Rosanna Arquette tells People. “The gift of life. She loved Luke, we all did. Alexis and Luke were very close friends.”

An actress and trans activist, Alexis Arquette passed away in September 2016 due to complications from HIV, which she had been living with for nearly 30 years.

“I know Alexis is with him, I believe that,” Rosanna says. “They loved each other deeply and were so close. Luke never judged Alexis, just loved her as she was. And it was a gift. Luke was a good man.”

Patricia Arquette echoed those sentiments in a statement addressing Perry's death, calling him a "most incredible friend" who was "integral and fair and good and strong." Two years ago, Perry and Patricia Arquette honored Alexis at the 28th annual GLAAD Awards, where Patricia was presented with the Vanguard Award.

"He and Lex were friends since they were kids and I remember many years ago, the height of the 90210 craze, they all said, 'Alexis Arquette is dating Luke. Luke is secretly gay,'" Patricia told Entertainment Tonight in 2017. "And Luke said, 'I'm not going to say that's not true, even though Alexis and I are just best friends because that would be to say there's nothing wrong with it, and there's nothing wrong with it.'"

"Look when you love somebody, you love them. Bottom line," Perry told ET at the time. "And I loved Lex and Lex loved me, and I don't need to explain that to anybody. That's how love works...."
