Take a moment to read and reflect on Bart Foster's, Business Outside, 3 beautifully stated points on Be a Dog in Business & Life! Plus, Taylor Johnsons' 4th point, Shake Things Off!!
Founder & CEO, BusinessOutside® | Author | Facilitator | Executive Coach | YPO Board Member | Speaker
Be a Dog in business and life. Three things we can learn from embracing a dog’s mindset: 🐕 1. AUTHENTICITY - Dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves, embodying authenticity in every wag of their tails. Likewise, successful business leaders are genuine, transparent, and true to their values. Embrace your unique qualities, foster a workplace culture that values authenticity, and watch as trust becomes the cornerstone of your leadership. 2. NOT CARING WHAT OTHERS THINK - Dogs live in the moment, oblivious to judgment or external opinions. In the business realm, effective leaders often need to tune out the noise and stay focused on their vision. By cultivating a mindset that isn't swayed by the fear of criticism, business leaders can make bold decisions, foster innovation, and steer their teams with confidence. 3. EMBRACE UNCERTAINTY - Dogs approach new situations with curiosity, not fear. Successful business leaders similarly view uncertainty as an opportunity rather than a threat. Embrace risk-taking as a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey. Those who dare to venture into the unknown often discover untapped potential and innovative solutions that lead to business growth and success. By embodying these qualities, leaders can create an environment that fosters authenticity, resilience, and a willingness to take calculated risks — essential ingredients for thriving in business. #Makeithappen #BusinessOutside Stuart Neilson Dan Hammond, Squadify Dave Brown Andrew Pawson John Ryan Michael Easter Brie Aletto Rob Mossman Anthony Pigliacampo Kyle Lefkoff BusinessOutside

Excellent Concept, especially with the exorbitant amount of bikes stolen, discarded, and found here in Boulder, CO; along with clothing and other items lost on trails, etc. Check out this awesome company: PlsReturnIt Inc!
ISPO Brandnew and Outdoor Retailer Innovation Award Finalist | Co-founder & CEO PlsReturnMe.com (PlsReturnIt Inc)
Our PlsReturnIt Inc team filled this truck to the roof with bikes to resurrect the Oakland International High School bike program— lots of excited students and faculty are thrilled to get the program back after it disappeared during the pandemic. If anyone has a contact at Vista Outdoor Inc. to get some helmets donated or to buy at a discounted price, that would be amazing! This is one of the many pilots we’re running to make apparel, electronics and gear protected against loss by our return IDs easier to donate or resell… and if they’re truly at the end of their usable lives, making it extremely easy to recycle them.

Thank you Triny for your continued support and dedication to make our streets/roads safer. This is a very powerful message! Bravo!! This is an excellent visual & reminder for me too! I've been on both sides. I eat in my car between clients. I only grab food when the 8 points around me are clear, or I'm at a stop light, but, it's still a distraction! I have been hit by a distracted driver, while riding my bike. I'm truly grateful to be riding and living another day. In the last 3 days, I've asked 3 drivers to put their phones down, when I approachedthem at read lights. All 3 drivers got defensive, and took no responsibility for their actions (not stopping at a stop sign & turning in front of me while looking at Maps = "I'm not texting, I'm reading!", veering into the whole bike lane FOUR times = "I'm not texting," she said while holding her phone, and veering into my husband and I on our way to a bike death memorial, not even looking in our direction.) Lets all please be aware of our surroundings, signal, drive safely, and make good choices! A simple choice can be devastating and life altering!
Our founder, Triny Willerton, had the honor and is so grateful to participate in this campaign with CDOT. Please share this public service announcement and help us put an end to distracted driving. In our latest Distracted Driving campaign, we partnered with Dr. Molly Thiessen, a local doctor, and the survivor of a distracted driving crash, Triny Willerton. With two local voices to champion against distracted driving, the campaign uses mathematics and on-screen graphics to create a simulation, showing how a driver opening a fast food sandwich while driving can take their eyes off the road for 3 seconds, which is long enough to miss 20 cyclists on the road. Triny Willerton was riding her bike when a distracted driver hit her. And he also never saw her. Don’t take your eyes off the road. Whether it’s a phone or food, it can wait. Don’t drive distracted. Distracted driving is one the leading causes of crashes and fatalities in Colorado. Any behavior that takes your focus away from the road is dangerous. That includes eating, texting, talking on the phone or to a passenger, looking after children or pets, reading, or watching videos. It’s dangerous, but more than 90% of Colorado drivers self-report driving distracted. And we’re seeing that effect on our roads. In 2020, distracted drivers were involved in 10,166 crashes on Colorado’s roads, injuring 1,4476 and killing 68. Unfortunately, many Coloradoans regularly drive distracted to the point that’s it becoming normalized. Not only is driving distracted dangerous, driving while texting is six times more dangerous than drunk driving, according to NHTSA. Don’t drive distracted. Shift into safe. #itcouldbeme #dropthedistraction #cdot #NHTSA #usdot #nrss #visionzero City of Boulder NACTO (National Association of City Transportation Officials) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA National Safety Council League of American Bicyclists Colorado Department of Transportation USDOT Research and Technology Denver Regional Council of Governments Ryan Frankel Jennifer Homendy Active Towns Sarah Abel Aaron Brockett Chris Carmichael

Please help us positively impact our community and save lives. Join us Friday night at the Cyclists for Community, Crank it Forward Gala!
Driven by protecting your people, property, and reputation. Strategic People Solutions & Risk Consultant. Father. Husband.
Supporting a Local Community is Important This is a critical week for Cyclists 4 Community in Boulder, Colorado as we host our big fundraising event on Friday the 19th at 6:00 (buy tickets or donate: https://lnkd.in/gTvbDteY). This little nonprofit that started 10 years ago is going to positively impact the community again starting this summer - we are going to save lives! That is why supporting a local community is important - we have to be involved and engaged. Work on the North Foothills Path Study has begun: Boulder County named https://www.otak.com/ as the contractor to perform this summer's feasibility study for the North Foothills Path, a separated bikeway between Boulder and Lyons. 36 is one of the most dangerous roads in the state. Support for C4C makes this study possible. It's the first real step towards actually constructing such a path. This has been a big goal of C4C for many years and it is so great to see it come together. Hear more about it and all the great work we are doing at our Crank-It-Forward event this week! #c4c #community #lockton #nonprofit #boulder

I spend much of my free time as a coach for a youth mountain bike team, the Salem Composite Descenders. -- No bravado. Everyone is welcome. Everyone rides. Friendship, building character, and rising to challenges are lifetime pursuits -- and there is no better place for this than on a bike for grades 6-12 (or anyone really). Since I started three years ago, our roster is up 150%, our coaching staff has nearly tripled, and we've outgrown our "all volunteer" approach to logistics. While "I've get the grill and tents, you get the tables and fire pit, we need someone to get the coolers and food..." may sound awesome, it's a challenging weekly refrain for 4 months in the fall. We need a trailer to store and haul our gear! We can't jeopardize the scholarships and financial aid that many of our athletes truly need -- thus a call out to our networks. If you have a few spare dollars and would like to invest in the health and wellbeing of our next generation, we would really appreciate it! #team #wellbeing #youthempowerment #mtblife

For the first time in the United States, we have a National publication, The New York Times, and the head of our Transportation Department, Secretary Pete Buttigieg, are speaking about the crisis we live on roads and the fact we have proven solutions to fix the problem. It is not a coincidence, and it is the result of the past years' work from advocates across the country. On this giving Tuesday, please consider donating to make your streets safer.
