In the 1970s, my late father, Emmanuel E.W. Jones, Jr. an electrical engineer, entrepreneur, and executive at the Liberia Electricity Corporation (formerly Public Utility Authority), represented Liberia at the World Energy Council. I recall his passion and dedication to electrifying Liberia and Africa at-large. This week, more than 50 years later, it will be a sentimental experience when I follow in his footsteps and participate in the Centenary of the World Energy Council, and speak during the 26th World Energy Congress here in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Neither my father nor I ever imagined this moment would come. One of the best advices from he and my mother has stuck with me till today, "keep the faith, never give up, and always strive to do your best." Every human being leaves behind a legacy. It will be defined and carried on in many ways far into the future!!! Thanks Michael Howard and Angela Wilkinson for inviting me to the 26th Congress.
