Siljustøl in Bergen was my childhood vacation spot. This is where my grandmother and grandfather lived, and where my father grew up. The place contained music, nature,a house with infinitely many rooms, countless myths and stories and a large forest. Because my grandfather Sæverud, was a famous composer, this place was made to a museum after his death in 1992 and therefore a public domain. This meant that I lost contact with the place and the childhood memories no longer felt like mine. 20 years later I decided to go back to photograph the mysterious, adventurous and slightly spooky atmosphere of Siljustøl, as I remembered it. This became The Road Back to Siljustøl.
