Luba Edlina-Dubinsky is originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine. She was a child piano prodigy and gave a number of public performances before she hit the age of 10. At 17, she went to study the intricacies of the piano at the famous Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire with Yakov Flier. She met and married Rostislav Dubinsky, a founding member of the Borodin Trio.

In 1976 she emigrated from Russia to live in Holland. A year later the world-famous Borodin Trio with cellist Yuli Turovsky, was formed. With them she performed and recorded the entire reportoire for piano and strings and a vast range of Chamber music for around twenty years. With Dubinsky she recorded the Sonatas for Violin and Piano by Shostakovich and Schnittke and all of the Sonatas by Beethoven. With Turovsky, she recorded the Sonatas for Cello and Piano by Shostakovich and Prokofiev and the Sonatas by Rachmaninov and Myaskovsky. She also recorded a number of solo CDs including the Complete Intermezzi of Johannes Brahms and the Complete Songs Without Words of Felix Mendelssohn.

She has held professorial positions at the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands and is currently a Professor of Piano at the Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN, US.
