Iva Dale (Heyer) Hurd, age 88, of Concordia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

Iva was born on Nov. 1, 1933, in Bland, MO, the sixth of 17 children born to the late William (Bill) and Etta Groff Heyer. In 1937, the family moved to Lafayette County.

She and Leslie Ledru Hurd were married on April 25, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Concordia. Les preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2005. Iva worked at the garment factory in Concordia for more than 25 years.

Survivors include two children, a son Rex (Deborah) Hurd of Rushville, MO and a daughter, Cheryl Bryant, of Concordia; 4 grandchildren, Randy Hurd (Crystal Parsons) of Camden Point, MO, Jamie (Michael) Eckmann of Omaha, NE, Shane Bryant of Concordia, and Josh (Emily) Bryant of Odessa, MO; seven great-grandchildren Gavin and Logan Eckmann of Omaha, Gunner and Colt Bryant of Sweet Springs, and Hunter, Kiera, and Scarlett Bryant of Odessa; three sisters, Anna Bueker of Higginsville, Florene Meyer of Concordia, and Betty (John) Nagy of Bethlehem, PA; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

Iva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Les; son-in-law, Jerry Bryant; nine brothers: Clarence, Delmar, Ray, Lonnie, Ronnie, Dewey, Bill, John, and Alvin; and four sisters: Ruth Gilkey, Edith Harms, Myrtle Burd, and Linda Heyer.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 25, at Concordia Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Baptist Cemetery in Concordia. The family encourages the wearing of masks at the services. Pallbearers will be Shane Bryant, Josh Bryant, Hunter Bryant, Randy Hurd, Mike Eckmann and Travis Estes.
