Kate Mara Hosts Screening of Her New Documentary in L.A., Gets Husband Jamie Bell's Support

Kate Mara had the support of husband Jamie Bell while celebrating her new documentary The Smell of Money at an L.A. screening.

The House of Cards actress is an executive producer on the new doc and she hosted the screening at The Grove on Tuesday (January 17) in Los Angeles.

Kate and Jamie were joined at the screening by director and producer Shawn Bannon, associate producer Michelle Cho, assistant editor Jenn Murphy, among others.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: “What is the price some pay for the world’s cheap pork? Elsie Herring and her rural North Carolina community take on the multibillion-dollar pork industry that has been spraying animal waste on their homes and land for decades.”

Kate told Variety, “After watching the film, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s a very haunting thing to learn about. I also felt this immense responsibility to the people (in the doc) and to their story. I wanted to work with Shawn to find a way to get their story out there because we want justice for them.”
