Spring’s in the air as Nessie awakens from slumber

It is a beautiful day here at Loch Ness. Sunny and crisp, with a good covering of snow on the high hills and the daffodils pushing their way through the ground.

The rivers flowing into the loch are sparkling and there are plenty people out walking, cycling, and going for a cruise on the loch. Many people think this is one of the best times to visit.

Scotland was in the spotlight yesterday when our national rugby team played France in a Six Nations match. The television coverage included people talking about the various unique selling points of each nation.

There was Monet for France. And haggis for Scotland. And a young girl’s voice saying: “We have the Loch Ness Monster!”

Nessie has, indeed, become an iconic figure across the globe. And she has been used in commercial advertising for numerous brands, including KitKat, Nokia, Panasonic, and Vladivar Vodka to name just a few.

And what better time of year to launch an advertising campaign? The colours here between March and May are spectacular, with the daffodils and primroses in March right up to bluebells and broom in May.

Enjoy a romantic cruise

It’s perfect for photographic shoots or video promos and, at Jacobite, we often entertain film crews, vloggers, and photographers seeking some amazing shots and colours around Loch Ness.

In fact, as Valentine’s Day is this week, what better surprise than to pay a quick visit and enjoy a romantic cruise on Loch Ness?

Check out our recent blog on how to get here, with all the alternative modes of transport. And remember Loch Ness is “More than a Monster” with plenty to do and see and many fine hotels, restaurants, and hostelries in the area.

Also our boats have warm internal saloons where you can enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, or perhaps a wee dram of single malt.

So, we have Spring from now till May, changing colours, trees growing their leaves, birdsong filling the air and Nessie awakening from her Winter slumber … we look forward to sharing it all with you.
