This floral illlustration, ‘Pimpinella magna' is from Gustav Alfred Senn’s collection, ‘Alpen-Flora: Westalpen’, published in 1906 by Heidelberg.

Dr. Senn was professor of botany at the University of Basel and a pioneer of chloroplast movement research. He published his groundbreaking book ‘The Changes in Shape and Position of Plant Chloroplasts’in 1908 and went on to become a researcher of the Greek philosopher, Theophrastus.
