An Amiga 500 in a matchbox? The Armiga pulls it off! ( Hardware Review )

It's a classic story really: two guys geek it out together in their proverbial garage and deliver something amazing, or at least really interesting, like the Armiga. At its core, the Armiga is about nostalgia. It sets out to recreate the warm fuzzies of playing that most awesome game of yesteryear while taking full advantage of today's sweet hardware. The Armiga intends to give you a fully decked-out classic Amiga 500 in a tiny box. And even though the product is still in the prototype stage, it works quite well!

Fantastic Dizzy - Browser based Sega Megadrive release for the classic Dizzy!

As if the recent announcement of all the ZX Spectrum Dizzy games playable in your browser wasn't enough, Andrew Joseph of YolkFolk.com has just given us the big eggy headsup that the original classic Fantastic Dizzy, which appeared on the Amiga, Game Gear, NES and Sega Mega Drive is now available to play for free in your browser!

Sqrxz v1.3 - Fun filled retro platformer by Retroguru overhauled for the Amiga!

Mid last year we gave you the heads up for Retroguru's excellent retro inspired run and jump platformer called Sqrxz 4. A challenging game which featured plenty of platforming fun as you move blocks about, avoiding enemies and collecting food and ice marbles! But the news today is the release of 'Sqrxz v1.3', an enhanced Amiga version of the original first game made in 1996 by Marcus Vesterlund (Maze) and John Holmvall (Hojo) for DOS and Windows 9x.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Lucasfilm Games Adventure C64 port! (WIP)

Have we got some special news for you and it's a game that C64 owners may well rush to their attics and get their hardware out for after 30 years of non usage just to play. Brick Bambi has fully announced with the second video, of a C64 work in progress graphical adventure port of the "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade " Amiga, PC, Atari ST and Mac release. PuzCat - The Amiga finally gets a new game!

For the last few months if not longer, I've been thinking to myself, we have all these C64 games and ZX Spectrum titles but we hardly get any Amstrad or Amiga. Thankfully just recently not only did we have an Amstrad release with Oceano, but now Mrs Beanbag has released 'PuzCat' for the Amiga. Developed in AMOS with an 8bit inspiration, the aim of this game while playing as a Cat is to eat all the mice in a level before moving onto the next through each exit door.

Jaguar XJ220 - Racing excellence comes to the Amiga CD32

You may have noticed it's been a bit quiet lately on the site and that's because the retro gaming scene has been pretty uninteresting these last few days, but that is about to change today with the Earok Amiga CD32 release of 'Jaguar XJ220'. Originally released for the Amiga in 1992 and then the MegaCD in 1993, Jaguar XJ220 was a fantastic arcade racing game with a great soundtrack, intuitive gameplay and the inclusion of a track editor. Thus it was no wonder reviews gave it 95% and above!

Horizon Chase - An Arcade love letter to the 16bit era!

Long ago in the days of the 8-bit and 16-bit era, people around the world played on Arcade machines or on their home computer, racing around tracks with the feeling of intense speed just to become the number 1. From games such as Outrun or the famous series of games Lotus and XJ220 on the Amiga it was a time I remember fondly. But what if I was to tell you of a game called 'Horizon Chase' developed by AquirisGS that is a homage to the 80s and early 90s classic racing games, would you be interested? I think you would, but there's more...

Commodore Amiga: a visual Commpendium - Book review

So after what seems like an eternity waiting since the end of the kickstarter campaign, The book Commodore Amiga: a visual Commpendium has finally been shipped to backers (it actually wasn't that long in comparison to other kickstarters I've funded but this was highly anticipated.) But does it stack up to the pre-launch hype? Read on to find out. (warning, image content heavy)

The Chaos Engine - An Amiga hit is on sale for PC, Mac and Linux at 90% off!

The original Chaos Engine was an incredible game released in 1993, and developed by the very famous Bitmap Brothers. With four landscapes to traverse and weapons to use it was an extremely popular game on any system. But today's news is from Mastertronic as they are now selling the enhanced PC, Mac and Linux version at 90% off with enhanced features and Steam achievements!

Another loyal Amiga gamer passes away Laffer35 - Sad News

It has come to our attention that Laffer35; a loyal, friendly and all round great chap has passed away due to suicide. He was in the hearts of many Amiga owners as not only was he a valued member of LemonAmiga and EAB ( English Amiga Board ), but he did many great Amiga longplay videos while giving friendly comments to other longplay's. As such JimPlaysGames has done a very heart felt video message, that I really think you should watch. Laffer35 I didn't know you personally, but thank you for being a great part of the Amiga community, and as I've had personal experience with suicide, I perhaps know a little bit of how you felt.

Originally developed by tlk games way back in 1992, has finally been crack released by Galahad with personal thanks also going to dlfrsilver. The file is an ADF so this is especially useful for Gotek users and anyone using an Amiga emulator such as WinUAE.
