Summary

Examples in this page help you create system requirement and prerequisite reports for IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) in the Software Product Compatibility Reports tool (SPCR).

Objective

Create Software Product Compatibility Reports that can be printed, downloaded as a PDF file, and shared by using the link created by the "Regenerate Anytime" option.

You can generate the following types of report:
 
High-level reports...
 
If there's specific information you need, select the appropriate High-level report to "Create a report".
 
Operating systems
  • Get the list of the operating systems supported by a selected product.
  • Get the list of products that run on a selected operating system.
  • Product and OS Matrix for selected products and operating systems.
Related software
  • Get the list of software required and/or supported by a selected product.
  • Get the list of products that require or run on a selected operating system.
  • Product and related software matrix for selected products and related software.    
Hypervisors (Virtual Machine Manager)
  • Get the list of hypervisors supported by a selected product.
  • Get the list of products that support a selected hypervisor.
  • Product and hypervisor matrix for selected products and hypervisors.

Detailed system requirements

Provide details of prerequisite software, supported operating systems, hypervisors, and software.
Other options allow the scope of the report to be refined.

 

Steps

Example 1

Describes how to create a detailed report showing Prerequisites and supported:

Hypervisors
Software
 
  1. Access Software Product Compatibility Reports
    https://www.ibm.com/software/reports/compatibility/clarity/index.html
    Select "Detailed system requirements"

    Select: Detailed System Requirements
     
  2. Enter the Full or partial product name: Tivoli Monitoring
    Click the search icon
     
  3. Select "Tivoli Monitoring" from the Search results area

    Select: Product
     
  4. Select Version "6.3.0"
    Options to refine the scope of the report are displayed.

    Click "+" to display items that can be deselected to refine the scope of the report.

    For this example, leave everything selected in the Operating system platforms, Product components, and Capabilities sections for a full detailed report.
     
  5. Click [Submit]

    Select: Version
     
  6. A report for the most recent maintenance level is displayed.
    If required, you can select an earlier maintenance level.
     
  7. Options are available to create an "Anytime" link, download a PDF version, and print the report.

    Detailed System Requirements Report

    In this example:
    Tivoli Monitoring 6.3.0 > Detailed System Requirements > 6.3.0.7 maintenance level

Example 2

Describes how to check what specific Operating Systems are supported by IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM).
The same information is available in the "Operating System" tab of the "Detailed System Requirements" reports described in Example 1, but this report provides a more targeted report.
 
For Example 2, we're checking what versions of Windows are supported.
 
  1. Access Software Product Compatibility Reports
    https://www.ibm.com/software/reports/compatibility/clarity/index.html

    * Select "Operating Systems" (Displays the "Operating System Reports" page)
    * Select "Operating systems for a specific product > Create a report"

    Select: Operating System Reports

    Or...
    Select the "Operating systems" radio button in the main page and select "Create a report"


    Select: Operating System Reports (Main page)
     
  2. Enter the Full or partial product name: Tivoli Monitoring
    Click the search icon
     
  3. Select "Tivoli Monitoring" from the Search results area

    Select: Tivoli Monitoring
     
  4. Select Version "6.3.0"
    Options to refine the scope of the report are displayed.

    Click "+" next to Operating System Platform.
    Clear the "All Platforms" setting and select "Windows".

    For this example, leave everything selected in the Product components section.
     
  5. Click [Submit]

    Select: Version and Windows
     
  6. A report for the most recent maintenance level is displayed.
    If required, you can select an earlier maintenance level.
     
  7. Options are available to create an "Anytime" link, download a PDF version, and print the report.

Note: You can build other reports targeting specific components and/or capabilities.
For example, if you want to check what databases are supported, build a report selecting the "Databases" capability.
