here's mine outdoors (was literally naked a few months ago)... Tylecodon wallichii

This is a plant that the Huntington ids as T walllichii, but sure looks more like T cacalioides to me... I am NO expert, though.

this is my own Tylecodon cacalioides (dinky in comparison... but hardy enough in this climate)

last one... this is Tylecodon striatus, a new plant to me... just found it in the Huntington a few weeks ago when it looked all dried up and sad... but after two weeks of rain, looks great.

Is the difference, IYO, between T. wallachii and T. cacaliodes the prominence of the tubercles?

Tubercle size varies. Flowers are the easiest way to to tell them apart, cacaliodes are much larger.

One of these days I'll put a few in the ground to see how they respond.

I have only seen T wallichii flower of the two... all the cacalioides seem quite resistant to flowering in our climate perhaps? That is another reason I think this plant at the Huntington is cacalioides- not only is it markedly tuberculate, but it has the thinner, paler leaves and I have never seen it in flower, while even 3" cuttings of T wallichi flower for me reliably.
