Stanley Tucci is looking really, really good right now

Reason #1923932 why the Internet loves Tucci: this suit
Stanley Tucci is looking really really good right now

“I mean, everybody’s dressed like a nine-year-old. And you think, but you're not nine years old! You’re a person. Put a shirt on, wear a pair of shoes,” Stanley Tucci told Condé Nast Traveler this past summer. And sure, he might have been talking about getting dressed up for plane rides. But it's an attitude he has whenever he throws on clothes. Tucci's attendance at the Prime Video Citadel premiere this week was bonafide evidence of his high benchmark for big, big fits.

The 62-year-old actor attended the event, which took place at an undisclosed location in Covent Garden, in one his sharpest suits to date. Tucci wore a perfectly-cut, silver-buttoned double-breasted blazer, Brunello Cucinelli of course, which, for a guy who falls slightly short at five foot eight, might not be the wisest choice on paper. But thanks to some really clever tailoring, which drew it in at the waist, it did the opposite of emphasising a smaller stature. His trousers, again tailored with the sharp pizzaz of a Savile Row mastermind, fell neatly on a pair of slightly heeled, buffed dress shoes.

The accessories also banged. His black tie was knotted boardroom style, while his neckerchief gave the suit a little bit of the loveable, cutesy and delightful Tucci vibe we've all fallen for.

He's been doing this for years, too. In the '90s, he was all about oversized DBs and grey wool trousers. Derbies on his feet. There were slick black suits broken up with palatable pistachio button-down shirts. Meanwhile, if he ever wore jeans, he did so with a structured blazer up top. Velvet or wool. Beach days in Santa Monica? Louche suiting and crochet camp collar shirts. Tucked.

And while some actors (no names mentioned) start to give up on their fits as they reach veteran status, or tread past the 60 mark, Tucci is showing no sign of giving up on throwing fits. A legend!
