Their families vacationed together in the Hamptons. Their families were business partners. Bad decisions were made. One family went on to make a fortune, the other family went bankrupt and lost everything. From that point, the families became bitter enemies and the truth of what happened was kept secret for decades.
McAllister International has a PR problem. Evan McAllister, also known as The Shark of Wall Street, has once again sullied the name of the business with his very public antics. With dissention among the board members, and Fergus McAllister's tenure as CEO up for discussion by the shareholders, Evan is demoted to heading community outreach while his drinking 'buddy' Martin Graff is given Evan's acquisitions portfolio.
Evan's first appointment was with none other than Alexa Borelli, a daughter of his family's enemy, there to discuss donations for her Three Sisters Fund. It was an awkward meeting with no pleasantries, leaving Alexa with doubts about an ongoing contribution to the fund.
A personal image rehabilitation expert was hired by Fergus and her first challenge was to find a woman for Evan that would be welcome at his mother's house for dinner. Unfortunately, his string of recent dates come far from meeting the expert's qualifications. Alexa Borelli, though, fit the bill and while it had been a long time since Alexa and Evan had seen each other, to Alexa and their parents it would never b e long enough, but a million dollar donation was on the line if she took on the character of becoming his girlfriend.
This book started out a bit slow and it took a while to figure out where it was going. It is full of corporate shenanigans and bad dealing. Eventually the truth of the failed friendship is revealed. In the end, it was a quite satisfying read. I was provided an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review, however, did also by a personal copy.

Not Everything is What It Seems
Evan, famously-known as the Shark of Wall Street, has been caught by the paparazzi in unflattering photos with the DA's daughter in a public water fountain. This is the last straw as his dad & the Board have demoted him to a position where he has to show the charitable side of the business & clean up his act. His first meeting is with Alexa & he has an idea to include her charity in a win-win proposition that will benefit the charity as well as improving his tarnished reputation. With an impressive deal, these two are on journey of faking it until it's not.
Not going into too much detail, this story has provided a few surprises which I didn't see coming, the huge secret that changes everything & seeing the other hidden side of Evan that Alexa notices while staying with him. Evan sees Alexa in a different light also; one that shines brighter as they spend more time together. She is a fierce, strong young lady who has goals in keeping her independence. She is to be admired, in my opinion. When everything is exposed, we will see the devil in a tux is not who you'd assume it is.
This is a lengthy story but it is really worth reading. Erin Swann has added more layers into this novel which includes the mystery of who is behind the backstabbing & who really is pushing Evan out of the family business. Plenty of hot romancing, a page-turner & suspense that will keep you captivated in reading it until the last page.

Two families that hate one another brought their children up hating each other yet the kids never really know why, oh they heard the stories from their parent’s side, but they don’t know the real reason behind the hatred. Evan sexy as all get out man with money warned by his father to stay away from that girl but that girl has his attention, and he was intrigued as a child growing up but listen to his father staying away from one another. Alexa intelligent running her charity trying to collect donations which leads her to her nemesis office to meet but runs right into the man she has been warned against all her left. They decided to work together. You see Evan needs to clean up his reputation after making the front-page dancing naked in the fountain but yet he remembers nothing about that event and needs help who better to help than the beautiful, reluctant Alexa. The moment they met the attraction was intense, yet neither wants to admit and the magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored but will they go against their families to act on the attraction that won’t stop, will it bring the truth out about their father’s hate for one another, does he find out what happened the night he was in the fountain dancing naked, will she get the monies needed for her charity, and is there more to the two of them like happiness?.

Evan meets a blast from the past, the bombshell Alexa who looks nothing like the wholesome girl he knew. Alexa is convinced there's no good about Evan. But situations compel them to put away their individual assumptions and start fake dating. It's a enemies to lovers fake dating.
I loved the characters. Alexa was likable, not your self wallowing curvy girl. She owned it, and armed with her CPA degree, gosh she's the poster girl for empowerment. Evan read like a chameleon, a huge goner in his povs and the shark of wall street in that of Alexa. I liked the side characters- have to mention Charlie and Noah.
The banter was perfect. Usually I find them a bit much. There was logic in the conversations. It's a big book, a bit slow at places. 2.5 on the spice.
The ending was lovely. It made me teary. I am glad it's a story where the big guy does good out of his heart, not because his hand is forced. It's different from other ones in the market- love it when the cause for rivalry isn't something simple that could be fixed with a chat in a locked room.

This was a good slow burn enemies to lover's book. This took two people Evan and Alexa who went from friends in the Hamptons to Alexa hating Evan and his family. Her family after a turn of events were no longer vacationing in the Hamptons and Alexa had been told it was because of Evan's family. Alexa and Evan run into each other, and it leads to a fake relationship between the two. Even though there are secrets between the two they start to actually get along and work on things that happened in the past. Alexa learns what Evan has done but also that her family had a big secret and when she learns the truth, she realizes she made judgements about people she shouldn't have.
Alexa has worked very hard at being independent and not depending on anyone. She learns through the book that it's okay to be independent, but you can accept help from people. Sometimes people want to help because they want to, and they love you. Evan changes from the shark of Wall Street to a softer man that will show his feelings.

Devil in a Tux- Evan and Alexa
Overall, a good read.
Evan is VP at his family company but is the typical bad boy, bad press, rich, arrogant, playboy. A shark is how he is known. But one drunken night, and the bad press goes too far. His father is not happy and those pics have consequences. He must improve the image of himself and the company asap.
Alexa is on her way to try to get a donation for the cancer charity she volunteers for. She absolutely hates the company she is headed to but she can’t deny the money. She has had to struggle for many years to,get where she is at and the downfall is due to the rich father and son dummies to where she is headed. So she is completely blindsided when she arrives at her meeting and it is with Evan.
I really thought, for the most part, that this was entertaining. I will say Alexa got on my nerves big time as, let it go, comes to mind. She hated Evan for his money, yet has no problem talking him into giving her more and more for charity. Anyways, I liked Evan a lot and knew he was a good guy. Look past her and the story was entertaining.

After her family went from a house in the Hamptons to a unit in Brooklyn, Alexa has learnt to work hard for all she gets and honesty and integrity are very important to her, unfortunately she has also learned to have a gigantic chip on her shoulder regarding help and gifts and refuses both at all opportunities.
Evan is rich. He uses money to get things done and to help people, he calls himself a problem solver and the press love his playboy behaviour and call him the shark of Wall Street. After some particularly bad press, his father brings in a firm to improve Evan’s reputation.
Evan and Alexa end up working together and can’t help to be drawn together. His Friend Martin, comes across as a slimy character and Evan takes a while to see his true colours.
There is intrigue, betrayal, unjust decisions and finally love to keep you turning the pages to the end, and a great ending it is too.

Different Sides of the Street
Alexa and Evan knew each other in their youth before their parents had a falling out and before Alexa father lost everything. Now Even is a Wall Street shark and Alexa is a struggling CPA.
As it turns out, Eva had a public relations nightmare. I needed some help straightening it out. Alexa needed a big donation for a favorite charity. Whenever Anne and Alexa ran into each other, it turned out that they could be mutually beneficial to each other, so Evan offered Alexa a deal. Evan offered $2 million to Alexa’s favorite charity in exchange for being his fake girlfriend for a few months to clean up his profile.
The funny thing about faking things is that sometimes they start to feel real, especially when you find the person you’re with is nicer than you anticipated.
This was a very well written story that was sweet and fun, full of romance and humor. Good work by Erin Swann.

It took me a few days to write this review, because I couldn't and still can't figure out what is missing in the storyline. I think it just didn't have any exciting or that wow factor.
Alexa Borelli the main female lead was annoying she was so proudful. She couldn't see the great man she had in front of her. I did like Evan McAllister the male lead. But sometimes he was too lenient on his enemies. For instance, Martin who was supposed to be his best friend. But was conspiring with his father to steal the McAllister company from them. In the end Martin got off way too easy for all the horrible crimes he committed. I wish more time was spent on the story of Martin and his dad being punished, convicted and imprisoned. Buy not going after Martin and his Dad more aggressively it made Evan look a bit weak.
All in All it was an Okay story to read. It needed to be edited. It was a bit too long for the mediocre story line.

Excellent Storyline that Held My Interest…Completely!
The two main characters, Alexa and Evan have a long and tumultuous relationship originating from their youth due to their father’s hate for each other. The no speak, no contact rule has been faithfully executed by both families. Then by chance Alexa and Evan are reunited over a business meeting and they decide it’s beneficial to help each other out. Foul play comes in, secrets are revealed and rethinking who they are are all hurdles they must overcome before an HEA is even a possibility.
Great storyline that was well crafted and held my interest from cover to cover. I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment. PEACE.

I really enjoyed reading Devil in a Tux .
It's a fantastic story . The characters are Wonderful . Evan McAllister finds himself demoted in his families company when he's page six news, naked dancing in a fountain . Evan has no memory of it though . Alexa Borelli arrives for a meeting at the McAllister building expecting Zoe Shorter their VP of community outreach . She speechless when she comes face to face with Evan McAllister . Their families have a past . Alexa is collecting donations for her charity Three Sisters Fund . Evan makes a deal with Alexa if they can pull it off she'll get a fantastic check for her charity and Evan cleans up his reputation . Of course it's never just cut and dry . This story is absolutely sensational . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

A heartwarming,enjoyable,steamy with a bit of drama..this is Evan and Alexa's story,a fake romance/enemies to lovers romance..A plaboy billionaire who needs a change of his image after a scandal and needs of a GF enter Alexa who work as a accountant/charity and needs of money for their company..the two had a history growing up as neighbor but it change when evens father do the eveil deads and Alexa's family goes bankrupt and that's the beginning of the end of their family friendshif and the grudge started..the have an instant attraction and chemistry but they did'nt acted on it because of their agreement until they couldn't stop it..

I enjoyed this book a lot. It spoke to me in unexpected ways.
Evan is the kind of man that you expect to be heartless, even ruthless.
And Alexa is the kind of woman who learned the hard way to fight for everything she has. Twists of family history ensured that her opinion of Evan was the worst possible. It didn't help matters that Evan coerced her into faking a relationship by the promise of a hefty donation to her charity.
Over a short space of time, Alexa started getting to him in subtle ways. Underneath it all, ran secrets that even Evan didn't know about, with dangerous repercussions. Worth the read!

This was a bit long for me, took me several days to get thru it. It went back and forth of holding my interest and not. I skimmed through a few of the sex scenes, there were just so many. Alexa got annoying more than once for how stubborn she could be. Evan was legit being nice to her and she didn't treat him well. I enjoyed her coming to her senses and plotting revenge, that was satisfying. But we were robbed of the big makeup! I felt like I missed a whole chapter, it was a major let down. I've read a bunch of books bybthis author before, and don't remember being so meh about them

Loved this hot romance with Alexa and Evan who were friends growing up until her father lost all their money and it was blamed on his father who went on to make millions while her family struggled. Evan is known as the Shark when it comes to business but he is really a nice guy and Alexa has worked hard for everything she has while blaming his family for her family's downfall but the more time she spends with Evan she more she falls for him.

I have laughed and I have cried. This is such a great story. The shark, or Devil in a Tux is a perfect read for anyone who loves a billionaire romance, with a snarky heroine. I haven’t been able to put it down. Evan and Alexa story is a breath of fresh air, the heroine already has smarts and knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say. A hero and heroine with flaws but such a perfect couple. I loved the fact Alexa is her own woman, and Evan is more than your typical brooding billionaire. Great read for anytime of the year, but definitely recommend if you have free time this Christmas.

Evan publicly embarrasses his family’s business by dancing naked in a fountain and is demoted to the charitable branch of the business. While in this position he meets Alexa who is seeking assistance with her charity. They have instant chemistry between them much to their families consternation. The book has amazing characters, deceit, suspense, and steamy attraction.

This is the first time I am reading this author and I really enjoyed this book. It was well written enemies to lovers /fake romance.
Evan needs to change his image and enters Alexa in the equation. Alexa doesn't want to be in Evans presence due to his reputation and shared past growing up as neighbors but he convinces her to pretend as his girlfriend. There is spark and attraction between these two but they dont want to act on it due to their agreement. The story was captivating and fun read. I cant wait to read more books by this author.

Okay the FMC in this book did my head in. I’m sorry but get off your fucking high horse, I had to force myself to finish this book. The story was fine, the plot fine. What was not fine was the whiney I have to pay for and do everything myself. Like seriously, it’s okay to accept money and I enjoy books more when the FMC enjoys the billionaires money because at least it’s realistic. She was born with money yet had the attitude of I’m Brooklyn through and through like no bitch you were a spoilt rich kid at some point too stop being a pick me.

The writing will draw you in after only a few pages and have you finishing the book in one sitting. There is the perfect amount of angst and romance to keep you hooked. I loved how their relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways you never expected. I would suggest picking up a copy asap, you will not be disappointed.

I've read several books written by Erin Swann; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Erin has done it once more and again! Devil in a Tux was an angsty frenemies to lovers tale woven in juicy sexploits, deception, betrayal, friendship, loyalty, bravery and ultimately...LOVE! I loved every second of this one. Don't sleep on it...you will not want to put it down to go to bed...so, I didnt. I just read it all the way through. It's a must read...do it, now!

Terrific!
Evan and Alexa are wonderful and their love story is long, messy, and had to survive many roadb!ocks. Many people tried desperately to separate them. Many misunderstandings and lies also caused problems. Both are stubborn, opinionated, and often do not listen to each other! Her charity is one of the most worthwhile that I have ever encountered! Love triumphs!

Really enjoyed this. I liked how Alexa and Evan balanced out each other, especially after Alexa got out of her own way and actually stood up for Evan just as he had done for her. There are lots of unexpected twists and a fair bit of humour.

An interesting storyline of long standing feud between two families with a lot of history between them. Great character development, with some intriguing twists that will have you entertained from beginning to end. Liked how much their relationship evolved from bargain to real love.

Absolutely loved how Alexa's friends and family called her out when she couldn't swallow a bitter pride when it mattered the most.
