AOC I2781FH Review

The AOC I2781FH is yet another IPS panel based monitor from AOC and both the ones I review have difficult models names to remember, and I dare say that you can combine both of them to make a really good password but I digress. The AOC I2781FH here is one that’s quite unique in the sense is that it’s slim and it comes with a beautiful looking stand.

The stand looks stylish, a modernist elegant and simple design. The silver colored matte surface stretches all over the stand and what’s neat is that the stand is pre-fitted (and not removable) from the monitor so you’re spared of the hassle of going through the assembly process.

Beneath the base of the stand are rubber feet for grip.

As for the input the AOC I2781FH comes with 2 HDMI and 1 VGA, I think this option is much better than having just a single HDMI connection. DVI users? Well it’s time for you to upgrade, HDMI is the way to go.

On the under side of the monitor are the buttons, the are clearly indicated with markers at the front.

For those wondering just how thin is this monitor, here’s a comparison between the monitor and a ruler – it’s about 1cm in thickness.

As for the bezel I think it’s just too bad that the one on the AOC I2781FH is rather thick, my Dell U2414H sports a much thinner frame of which I hoped the AOC I2781FH would sport.

User Experience

The AOC I2781FH is a simple monitor built for the individual who seeks elegance one their desktop, it comes with IPS panel for wide screen viewing and better color reproduction and it has Flicker-free technology for those who intend to look at the screen over long duration.

What I like about the AOC I2781FH is that the stand and base is pre-fitted so you won’t have to worry about assembly, the monitor’s unusual base design might seem awkward to some but trust me, it’s sturdy and holds the 27″ screen in place really well. Talk about combining form and function, I must say AOC got it right.

As for the monitor, it has only up and down angle adjustment but it should fit nicely for most people.

The Verdict

The AOC I2781FH retails at RM 999, in terms of feature I think AOC falls short when compared to models like say Dell U2417H. What AOC I2781FH offers however is the design and the 3-years warranty with on-site pick up. It’s still a good monitor nonetheless, especially if the design is one that complements your decor.
