Speaking to Miriam O'Callaghan on Irish station RTE Radio 1 recently, Geldof said that he "half-expected" his daughter's death.

"Part of me kind of half-expected [it with] Peaches, to be honest with you - the way she was carrying on, there's nothing you can do about it". The Boomtown Rats star continued: "This thing of being forever 25, in my head, that's unbearable, simply because of that cliché - you're not supposed to see your children die. "But she is the one who is with me every second of the day and she is the one who bangs into my consciousness at any moment, especially in any down moment... where I'm not doing something. She's very present. "Time does not heal, it accommodates. But it is not accommodating this," he added.

Bob Geldof has spoken out about the loss of his daughter Peaches Geldof, saying he is "amazed" by the "overwhelming response" from thousands of people to her death.

Speaking to BBC's Phil William's, Bob said: "It amazed me the impact this kid had on her generation, I'm not quite sure why either, but she was super bright, that was one of the problems unfortunately, a frantic mind, bouncing off her own internal walls, could never be still, which is of course why why you look for something to sedate you I suppose. Really from the earliest, earliest age."

Bob said of his daughter, who died tragically earlier this year aged 25, after a heroin overdose: "She understood what life was supposed to be and she was trying very hard to get there... The overwhelming response from unbelievable thousands of people was a great loss, somehow, in their lives."

He also spoke of how he had never meant for Peaches's life to be a media circus. "We're not - whatever they're called - the Kardashians or the Osbournes or stuff like that... We never meant to make a circus of ourselves," he said.

"It's just that - look at her mum, look at her dad. If we were both grocers or bakers, no doubt they were going to grow up in the bakery business. They grew up in the media business. When you have someone who says "Oh, you're Peaches Dad, she's great", that's very cool. When she died, the response of that generation in particular moved me immensely."

Fifi Geldof - the 31-year-old sister of the late Peaches Geldof - took to her Instagram account yesterday to slam critics of her younger sister. after an inquest found she had overdosed on high-strength heroin when she died in April this year.

Fifi posted an image on the picture-sharing site that read: "Don't keep calm and f*** this. F*** that. F*** you. F*** off."

She captioned the photo: "Sums it up nicely about how I'm feeling about the viciousness today. Maybe now she'll be allowed to RIP."

One Instagram user replied: "Think people are more annoyed at how she portrayed her life for her kids but was selfish to use drugs in front of them. Selfish and sad. Poor boys."

Fifi quickly hit back, writing: "You've no idea what you're talking about quite frankly. Yet another who has bought into the bulls***.

"I'd appreciate you getting the f*** off my page with stuff like that on today of all days."

The outburst comes just days after the inquest into the death of Peaches - who tragically died at the age of 25 - had been taking substitute drug methadone in the two-and-a-half years before her untimely demise.

On 23 July 2014, we wrote...

A coroner's inquest has confirmed that Peaches Geldof died of a drugs overdose.

At the inquest, which resumed today at Gravesend Crown Court, Pathologist Peter Jerreat revealed that toxicology tests showed evidence of codeine, morphine and methadone in Geldof's blood.

PA

The methadone had been synthesized from heroin, which was used at "a fatal range". Coroner Roger Hatch said that the death would be recorded as "drugs-related" and that there was evidence of Geldof taking heroin at the house.

He added: "Someone who stops or ceases to use heroin, then resumes, is less able to tolerate the levels they previously had".

Referencing the tragic death of Peaches' mother, Paula Yates, Hatch said:

"It has been said this is a case of history repeating itself. But this is not entirely so". He then mentioned how she had attempted to rehabilitate herself after becoming dependent on drugs.

A police report, issued after the inquest ended, revealed that Peaches "had been supported by drug treatment workers for 2 and a half years"

She had "indicated [a] desire to come off methadone completely, and was following a plan to reduce the level of methadone she was taking...A drugs test in November indicated that she was not taking any illicit drug."

Geldof's husband Tom Cohen also gave evidence to the inquest, and said that he had no concerns about Geldof's wellbeing the last time he spoke to her, at 5.40pm on Sunday, April 6.

He revealed that she had been seeking treatment for a drug dependency two years before her death, and that she had told him all her weekly drug tests had been clear. He then said he believed she had been lying about the tests.

He added that he had reason to believe Peaches had resumed taking heroin, after finding text messages on her phone in February - and that he thought she was storing drugs in the loft.

Police confirmed that a bag containing 6.9g of "high grade" heroin was found at the house, along with 27 bottles of methadone.

The following police report was issued after the inquest ended:

"When considering all of the above information, I, as the Senior Investigating Officer, conclude that Peaches Geldof-Cohen died of a heroin overdose".

"From known contact between Peaches and her family and friends her death occurred at or after 8pm on the evening of Sunday 6th April 2014, and from evidence available she was at her home address alone with her son Phaedra". "There is no indication that any other third party was present or involved in her death, and there is no indication that Peaches intended to take her own life or harm herself in any way as she was reported to be of happy disposition and planning for the future with friends and family."

A full inquest into the tragic death of Peaches Geldof will begin tomorrow - and it could establish whether the beautiful mother-of-two took her own life.

The daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates was discovered by her husband at her home in Wrotham, Kent on April 7th after a suspected overdose of heroin, aged just 25.

PA

A post-mortem conducted at the time proved to be inconclusive, but police said "recent levels of heroin could have played a role", prompting comparisons with Peachess's tragic mother Paula, who died from an overdose in 2000.

Peaches left husband Thomas Cohen, and children Phaedra and Astala, as well as her grieving siblings and father, who said at the time:

"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.

"Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?

"We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.

"Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof."

We hope the new investigation will shed some light on the tragedy for Peaches's grieving family.

The Boomtown Rats star described Peaches Geldof's death as "intolerable" and the pain "unimaginable".

When asked how he was doing following Peaches' death on 7 April, Sir Bob shrugged his shoulders and replied: "There's not many options. It's intolerable and it's very hard as everybody must realise but what else do you do? You just get on with it."

Rex Features

The 62-year-old revealed that touring helps him deal with it all, he said: "I've always done that and being on stage is entirely cathartic. It completely clears your head. I just get on a stage and go mad, but if I dwell on the words sometimes, I struggle through the song because they take on meanings which I never meant when I actually wrote them."

"The default position for me as a person is, 'right things have to be organised' and that distracts me. But like any body else, these things assault you without warning.

"I've got to be careful because this is still very raw. I'll be walking down the street and suddenly out of the blue there's an awareness of her and I buckle."

Before saying that he didn't want this to be a "blub-fest", he goes on to thank the public for their support during the difficult time, and that he was "overwhelmed".

An interview thought to be the last that was given by Peaches Geldof has been released.

In the chat to The Spectator magazine, she talked about her frustrations at people's preconceptions of her and how they thought she would "die like her mother." She also explained how becoming a mother herself had changed her life.

PA Photos

Comparing herself to a character in a book she said: "I'm young, but people all know the same information about me.

"That's the worst thing, the preconceptions... I'm going to die like my mother, she's going to end up like her mother.

"The worst thing is shaking someone's hand and realising full well they have a completely preconceived notion of who you are.

"They know your whole life! And you know nothing about them. It's an imbalance that's frightening."

Peaches' mum, Paula Yates, died at age 41 of an accidental heroine overdose in 2000. Peaches initial post-mortem in May revealed heroin was also "likely" to have been involved in her death.

In the interview, Peaches also said her life changed when she became a mother, as did people's attitudes towards her:

"Suddenly I was this earth mother. It was an overnight transformation. It was so profoundly hateful. Then, out of nowhere, it was, 'Dang. We can't hate you anymore. Here she is in her golden hair, etc.'"

"No personal items are believed to have been stolen.

"Additionally, in mid-April a lawn mower was reported [to police] to have been taken from the grounds."

Your eyes are soft with sorrow Hey, that's no way to say goodbye

I'm not looking for another as I wander in my time Walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme You know my love goes with you as your love stays with me It's just the way it changes like the shoreline and the sea But let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie

Your eyes are soft with sorrow Hey, that's no way to say goodbye

"There are so many parallels between us. Now I can understand everything. I think you have to experience hardships and pain yourself to fully understand people who have been through it and also you can never really experience happiness unless you've had that down feeling too. Sometimes, it's enjoyable to be a bit depressive, I think."

Finally, Peaches also revealed that she had hoped to have a girl "purely to dress her up" just like her mum did with her. "The way I've been raising them is with pure love," she added.

"I remember making this same journey 4 years ago. At a point in my life where I didn't really know many people in L.A, and if I did.. they were nothing more than acquaintances.

At this moment in time, I knew that Peaches had moved from NYC to LA. As soon as I landed I called her.

We met up for what would become tradition in her stint in Los Angeles & my back and forth from New York, we ate burgers. I'm serious, this was really the first thing we'd meet up and do every time, no questions asked.

Although there was one time where before we ate, she'd convinced me to buy a pack of porno playing cards to do magic tricks for her, i obliged, I was heavily into magic at the time, what more can I say?

It's funny that this would be the memory ringing in my head right now. There are plenty of memories growing up & coming of age in London with her, my dear friends Fifi, Fred and the rest of the gang. Even when I first moved to New York 7 years ago, and she'd also just moved to NYC with her good friend Lily, who in turn became a very close friend of mine, I didn't really live anywhere at the time & I would spend every day in their apartment. But for some reason right now the memory of LA sticks out.

Obviously because i'm on my way there now, I guess, but i've really struggled to put into words how I've been feeling, i'm sure we all have. Nothing I could write, say, or any pictures I feel can really, truly convey the loss we are feeling right now…

This is someone who affected so many of us, my friends, in our lives. It's a struggle to picture a moment in time without her. Just last month while playing shows in London I remember the delight of seeing her and Fifi together, just like old times. We quipped about it, a little older, but still babies in the grand scheme of things.

But really, she had grown so much, we all watched her grow, and create a beautiful family with Thomas. My heart goes out to him, and the rest of her family. This is just so unfair… it's made me physically sick..

I don't have much more to say, i'm still in shock over this. I just wanted to try and honour her in some way…

We love you Peaches.

Rest In Peace."
