Pleasant town of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, New Aquitaine, Urt takes place at the heart of the Basque country, on the border of Gascony. It is located fifteen kilometers from the tourist town of Bayonne, on the banks of the Adour, on the border of the Landes department.
Founded in 1193, the town of Urt was previously a charming little fishing village that is gradually transformed into a thriving and vibrant city. Under the protection of the King of Navarre from the thirteenth century, she knows many torments over the centuries, especially through the English occupation by the army of the Duke of Wellington during the campaign of 1813 - 1814.
Always dynamic, Urt has now turned towards tourism, taking advantage of its ideal location to discover the charms of the region, as well as its rich architectural and natural heritage.
