A medieval Gascon castle enlarged during the Renaissance, the castle of Gramont still today offers incredible views of the Arrats valley and the surrounding landscapes. An unmissable stopover in the region, it was built in the 13th century by the Montant family before being remodeled in the 14th century.
Visitors can still admire here a very beautiful 17th century portal in the Gothic style as well as terraced gardens, in addition to an interior decoration close to the spirit of the 1970s rendered by its current owners.
The castle of Gramont is also appreciated for its vaulted staircase with helical warheads without a central core, as well as for its rooms with original floors, French ceilings and monumental fireplaces.
Of the original medieval castle, there is still a fortified tower, the Simon de Montfort tower.
