Emblematic site of Greater Cergy Pontoise major work of Dani Karavan, artist and landscape perspective, structuring representation of urban development, the major axis echoes the historical axis from the Champs-Elysées from the Louvre with whom he establishes a metaphorical visual connection across the Grand Paris.
Dotted with gardens and environmental sculptures that walk more than three kilometers route was devised in 1980 by Michel Jaouen, one of the planners of the new city. 30 years were required for its completion.
Dani Karavan was able to bring the project planner symbolic dimension of this vast carved into the landscape and punctuated by twelve "stations" garden figure punctuating the life of the man and returned, sometimes its multiples in several steps the major axis (12 stations, 12 columns, 12 months of the year, 12 hours of the day and night, etc..).
Its starting point is marked by the Belvedere Tower that dominates the center of the square Hubert Renaud. The columns of buildings signed Ricardo Bofill open to place a carpet of white concrete down to the Oise at the center of an orchard. After the vast space of the square of Paris, at the foot of the twelve columns, the view unfolds on the loop of the Oise, Defence and Paris. Below this natural viewpoint, the red bridge, opened to the public last station in 2008, dominates the valley of the Oise.
