Village of Lot-et-Garonne with more than 1400 inhabitants, Castillonnès takes place on the Dropt, between Bergerac and Agen. The town is not far from Cavarc, Douzains or Sainte-Radegonde.
The one that takes its name from Castillon neu, "New Castle", is originally a country house created in the middle of the thirteenth century by Alphonse de Poitiers and taking place on the old parish of Doene. A century later, the town became the seat of a baylie Agen, before being annexed to the Crown of England in the first half of the fourteenth century.
Standing still proudly today in the heart of a preserved and unique landscape, Castillonnès continues to seduce passing visitors by its exceptional nature and its modest architectural heritage testifying to a rich past.
