Bresnay

The landscapes of the Bourbonnais bocage are available to walkers who walk the communal paths, several marked hiking trails are to be discovered in the middle of the forests, meadows and vineyards of the commune.

During your walks, you can visit the Saint-Barthélémy church, it has octagonal baptismal fonts decorated with polychrome coats of arms from the 11th century bearing the initials of Ave Maria. A bas-relief from the 15th century represents the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, Saint Crépin and Saint Crépinien. You can also go to the Vernusses chapel which houses the Black Virgin of the Vernusses. Until the Revolution, it was always venerated and exhibited in the cavity of the abalone where it was discovered. It was the object of pilgrimage frequented by all the surrounding parishes, the elm was replaced by the chapel at the end of the 19th century. The town of Bresnay is home to many castles and mansions of character which are all private, that of the Scots to the north of Bourg, Givry and Chatelus to the south-east, Périgons to the south-west and Pierdons to the south.

Every year at the end of August, the patronal feast and a semi-nocturnal flea market take place.
